Is there a reason why you don't check the box that says "Match CC Model Scale (x100)" at time 42:42 when you import your ZBrush files back into CC4? Also why you don't check the box that says "Match ZBrush Model Scale (x0.01) at time 43:43 when you export back into ZBrush. I have seen different tutorials say you have to check those boxes, some others don't. It just gets a bit confusing when and when not to check those boxes for scaling. Thanks.

Also the Project-Divide workflow, does it make more sense to just decimate the high res Mesh?

It will run ZRemesher with a slightly different algorithm, giving you (most noticeably) a different center line configuration. If regular ZRemesh gives you a subpar result, especially down the middle of your object, give the alt version a shot!

@@kevindung1785 YMMV, but for me, decimating the high res is just for reducing super high poly to manageably high poly, but that's about it. Remeshing to a low subdivision and then projecting your high res details back to multiple subdivisions unlocks, among other cool things, the ability to make changes on your lower subdivision and have it drive your higher subdivisions

For your section on prepping your hockey mask within ZBrush and then bringing into CC4 and essentially have that accessory saved within the CC4 assets to be used with other characters. Can you then sell this mask on the CC4 Marketplace for others to purchase? Will you ever create a tutorial on how to create and sell assets on the CC4 Marketplace?

You can totally sell your creations on the CC4 Marketplace (whether or not there's copyright issues with this PATICULAR "Voorhees-esque" mask I'm not certain, but just a general asset, no problemo). Excellent! Right on time per usual. Question, I wanted to export an asset back to Painter for more detailing. I used GOZ Plus and was able to continue work just fine but ran into an error when I attempted to export character back into Substance Painter due to the meshes created in ZBrush . Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Very excited to have displacement maps finally get sent back to CC! I've been asking for this for years! Also as a reminder to others, if you don't want to break symmetry sculpting, you need to select "Match Zbrush Model Scale" it's essentially the same thing as Unify in the Deformations tab. You will need to choose similar setting to bring it up to scale sending it back to CC4. There is no better instructor than Michael Pavlovich! I've been following his work since Zbrush 4R7. I hope Reallusion Adopts him full time XD I was hoping Reallusion would have used a macro to build the script to generate Raycast AO to create a texture from the mask and send back to CC but maybe that will come in a later update, right now the plugin is pretty awesome as it is!

Does this GozPlus addon fixes all traditional GoZ issues like relinking from CC4 to Zbrush issues?

I haven't had any issues with relinking with the update, in fact, you can now clear your ZB cache files (Preferences > GoZ), traditional GoZ over your ZB subtool assets, hit Cancel in the warning dialog box in CC as a kind of "prime the pump" for GoZ cache rebuild, then if you GoZ from CC to ZB, it'll look at the updated cache files you just made, and have far less chance of having a relink error!

ARRRRGGGHHH. I love the tools and bridges for CC to Zbrush. I just wish I could afford Zbrush. Reh!! I unintentionally created a workflow similar to yours, so I'm loving these videos. They help me get better with it.

OK, I really just have 1 thing I've not understood up to this point in the series - how did you get the all the paint to move from CC to ZBrush as a separate layer? I've poked it in every way I can think of, and I can't make that happen. Maybe I've not quite understood something, but I remember you saying a few videos ago that the paint was in a separate powlypaint layer. The way I have it, I can turn the paint off on each ZBrush Subtool and leave myself with the base grey, or I can have it on and show all the Painter works... I can't quite get to the happy medium point :)

The "Match Zbrush Model Scale (x0.01) is essential if you ever want work with symmetry and prevent it from being lost - it's the same thing as "Unify" under deformations and because it basically shrinks it down to unit size, you should have enough brush scale that you wouldn't have to frig with it in preferences. When sending back to CC4, you will have to choose the scale (x100) to match it back again in CC4. Also bones will not change unless you choose to fit it (can be auto aligned in CC4 later) A big tip to anyone new, create a morph target, subdivide to the levels you want before using masks, if you use a mask then subdivide it will break the vert count and you can't send it back to CC4 to update the character. The morph target is to switch to your original character shape after subdividing if you need it. One new thing that i learned here that I thought was very cool, is that morph modification in character in CC4 can be sent back to your Zbrush model with subdivisions and I've been using CC4 between Zbrush for years.. thanks Michael!

Reallusion should allow multi characters/rigs within Character Creator, it drives me nuts with Accurig, I'd like to be able add bones to accessories and then attach it to the characters hip etc so we can apply springJoints and have the objects move/bounce around, add springjoints to an ik chain or custom joints on the ik chain. Sorry for the rant, as you were XD As soon as you said water pouch, that was my trigger. I had to find an alt way of setting it up.

Upon dragging out a line of spaced IMM's, Is it possible to interpolate the order of models within the stroke? They could be unique models in the IMM or morphed versions. Couple examples: sectioned pillar components or an object that has many morphed versions.

Shift I don't think so, you can try Stroke > Lazy Mouse > Backtrack > Line for your mask pen I think, or just polypaint where you want your mask to go, using shift, then run a Masking > Mask by color > mask by intensity maybe 😥

Hi michael random question for you but is there a way to adjust the color or boldness of edges that are creased in the viewport such as in maya the edge color is brighter and thicker i find it hard to see which edges are creased in zbrush with just the thin dotted line being the only indicator? thanks!

Hmm... you can change the polyframe color and boldness under Preferences > Draw (all the pframe stuff), but not much more than thickness / color. Not really an answer, but fwiw I usually use polygroups to indicate where my creases are (I use crease PG for everything hard surface basically), mixed with turning on dynamic and dialing in my crease level and subdivision history so it's SUPER visual where my creases are
