HEY. LOVED HOW YOUR VIDEO WAS SO INFORMATIVE ESPECIALLY FOR THE STUDENTS LIKE ME WHO JUST BEGAN HUNTING FOR UNI IN AUSTRALIA. SO I WANT A LITTLE SUGGESTION REGARDING THE COURSE WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE FOR MASTERS EITHER BUSINESS ANALYTICS OR COMMERCE. IM GRADUATED IN BBA SO WOULD U SUGGEST ME WHICH COURSE HAS MORE SCOPE.

Hi Radhika, thanks for reaching out. I am so glad you found it helpful. Ok so to answer your question, I would say you need to understand what do you actually want to do. Where does your interest lie? And frankly, I wish someone had told this to me when I was planning to come here. Sit with yourself and ask or write down that what is it that you actually want to do and where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? If you dream of being a senior business analyst at a great firm, and really enjoy working on Excel and Power BI and also enjoy networking and communicating, go for business analytics. And I am not entirely sure of what scope is after commerce since I did not pursue that but I do feel that commerce is a huge field. You need to narrow it down to become a master at something. Like what exactly in commerce? Its important to have a specific knowledge about something rather than having a lot of knowledge about something generic. If your interest lies in something in commerce, I recommend googling about scope of commerce in Australia and what exactly job opportunities are there after your masters. Look at indeed, seek, linkedin and check the job postings and requirements. And also think of other things that interest you the most. Teaching has a huge scope in Australia too. See what you love doing. I hope this makes sense. Happy for you to ask anything else if its unclear.

Hi priyanka! Found this video very insightful.. i recently requested you to make an in depth video on business analytics as i’ll be pursuing masters in business analytics in feb from macquire university. Before you do that, could you please reply in the text what skills should i learn while im here(4-5 months free time) to make the process of landing an entry level job easier..like softwares like excel, sql, power bi to i know, but something specific to australian market.. what softwares are used there that i should know or be certified in, and should i make projects before hand. I would appreciate your guidance!

Hey Gagan! I'm working on a lot of video suggestions and yours is definitely in my list. I just feel that before I dive into the specifics on my course, there are some very basic things that I can share to help the new and upcoming students. To answer your questions - I would say first up, think about what parts of business analytics really get you excited. Where do you see yourself in five years? If you dream of being a senior business analyst at a great firm, beefing up your Excel and Power BI skills is a good move. May be you can try out some real-world projects on Fiverr or Upwork to get some practical experience with actual datasets. This hands-on work isn’t just great for getting better at these tools-it’ll also give you cool stuff to talk about in job interviews confidently. I use Excel and Power BI every day in my current job as a business analyst, and they are absolute game-changers so make sure you know all the formulas, power query etc. Become a master at building dashboards and everything around PowerBI. And I would also say that don’t forget about your communication skills. They’re super important because it’s not just about the numbers-it’s about how you explain them and your data story. If you’re leaning more towards the technical side, diving into SQL, Python, and R is the way to go. They’re key for any serious data analysis and can really set you apart in tech-heavy roles. I wasn't taught these in my degree and never had interest on the technical side. One big piece of advice: make sure you enjoy what you’re doing. It’s the best way to avoid burnout and really love your work. While it’s great to have a packed resume with skills and projects from back home, a resume usually gets a quick look-over, less than 30 secs. So, your real superpower will be your ability to connect with people, network, and communicate what makes you special and unique. I have realised this after working at KPMG for almost 3 years now. Also since you have time, reflect on what you actually love to do. Are you into reading? If so, I’d love to recommend some books that could open up new ways of thinking and really sharpen your analytical edge- just say the word! Let me know what you think :)

@@priyanka_saluja Wow! Thanks for the insightful response! I can’t thank you enough for this! Having a commerce background i would say im not into tech side of the field but i am still planning to learn the basics of programming - sql and python, baki I’ll definitely give more importance to mastering excel nd power bi. And yes, I am into reading, although it has been a while since i picked a book so would love to start with the one’s you recommend! Again, really appreciate your response!🤗

@@022gaganjitsingh8 I wish someone had told me to think about what I actually love doing and I probably wouldn't have done business analytics. Hence my long response about your question. :) I would recommend reading some life related books, not really relating to business analytics. Since you have free time, it will be perfect to reflect on what you actually want. 1. Ikigai 2. Influence by Robert Cialdini 3. The Power of Now (could be a bit boring but it has been the most life changing book - I love it) 4. Four-Hour work week (if you plan to own a business one day) 5. The Almanack of Naval Ravikant 6. How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnege

Hi Junaid, thanks for reaching out. I had a few friends who did cybersecurity and now have a job. It’s a space that has increasing demand. But since its relatively newer field, it has a alot of competition I believe. Same things apply though - applying lots of jobs, reaching out to recruiters personally and trying to stand out from every other applicant by sourcing internships, building networks. There are jobs and as per my knowledge, there is great scope but do your deeper research too.

Hello, thanks for reaching out. Yeh question bohot saare factors par depend karta hai. Kaunsi University hai, kaunse agent ke through aapne apply kia, course kabse start hai, kaunsi state me university hai. Harr state aur university ke alag rules hote hain. Lekin zaada se zaada 8 weeks me aajana chahiye. Agar 14 July tak nhi aaya, toh ho skta hai application kisi stage par atak gyi hai. Thoda sa aur wait krlo and then may be write an email to the Australian student visa department that what is the problem? Ask them after 8 weeks that what else documents do I need to provide you to get my visa quicker so atleast you know that what is the problem and you can take an action accordingly. I really hope ki aapki beti ka visa jaldi aaye. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. You can try indeed, seek and LinkedIn as they are the biggest platforms for jobs here. I would also suggest reaching out to recruiters directly on LinkedIn and asking them to schedule a zoom call to discuss about your experience and the job they’re hiring for. Personal touch always helps. It can be a lil difficult to get a job from India without a visa but if you can get a hold of a few recruiters, try to connect with them constantly, tell them that you have the desired skills, they can definitely consider you.
