This is actually a good video. Too bad you stopped. Question. On reverse smokers, have you noted bottom overcooking on other proteins because of the radiant heat from the baffle? Any preference over direct flow vs reverse? Is it mainly ease of use or efficiency?
@FIREDUpBrewsBBQs

I really like the reverse design. I usually cook on the top rack most of the time. You definitely can easily overcook with this smoker. Controlling the temperature takes some practice when using real wood versus a pellet. I prefer using the Lang, but with kids and a chaotic schedule, I find myself using the Yoder more often. If time were not an issue, I'd cook with the Lang every time. Thanks for watching. I would love to get back into making content someday. I am currently focused on Mr. FIRED Up Wealth, a stock market investing channel. My 3 passions are stocks, BBQ, and travel. Cheers, -Eric

Noice! I definitely do not have room for one right now. But I am looking at that 36" Deluxe. I love my Kamado Joe. But I need one of these Langs! The cuts in the firebox do look a little janky, but that is on the inside, and its almost getting into the nitpicking side of critiquing. As long as it is sealed and works well, its ok. the outside is gorgeous. I was looking at the hybrid for a second, but the KJ can do pizza and rotisserie and all sorts of things pretty well so I will stick with the KJ and a 36" Deluxe (as soon as im able to) I will have to add those wheels like you did, it looks rad.

I didn’t see you add any Cumin. Never had chili that didn’t use Cumin. I made this recipe a couple times now and it’s awesome though I do probably double the chili powder and add almost as much Cumin. Best chili ever. Also love the corn idea. Ps did your baked beans too and they were a huge hit!
@FIREDUpBrewsBBQs
@FIREDUpBrewsBBQs 3 жыл бұрын
Hello. How are you? I do use Cumin sometimes. It distracts from the smoked chipotles a bit, in my opinion. If you use the smoke chipotles, I do not think you will need double the chili powder. Experiment and let me know. I have several variations of this recipe. The recipe in the video is for when I am trying to appease the masses. Everyone likes it. My personal favorite is a really hot version of this, which includes home-grown Scorpion and Carolina Reaper peppers. It's insanely hot and I am the only person who likes it. At least that I have met and who has tried it. LOL! Glad the beans worked out. I will make more BBQ videos this Spring. I am focused on my stock market channel at the moment. FIRED Up Wealth. Cheers! :)

I did use the chipotles but only 1 can because like you I was trying to appease the masses. I was afraid of having too much heat. Turns out I probably should’ve stuck with 2 cans like you said and not need to add as much chili powder. As far as the extreme heat that you like... that sounds insanely hot haha. Never heard of those peppers. Also weird you mention your new channel is on the stock market, it’s my newest hobby haha. Going to go check it out now! Thanks for the response!

I appreciate your review, thank you for doing it. I am not being critical or judgemental towards you when I say this. Personally: I was fortunate enough to be taught early on to always always keep my grills grates cleaned and well oiled no matter what or rust will quickly set in. I see this has happened to you. You, not the only KZbinr I see doing grill reviews with rusty grates even though yours are only slightly rusty, it shows up well in the sunlight. Just something to think about. I am thinking seriously about getting one of these grills. My buddy has the Traeger 34 and he loves it to the moon and back. Good job thanks for doing the review!
@FIREDUpBrewsBBQs
@FIREDUpBrewsBBQs 3 жыл бұрын
I clean after every cook. I vacuum ash after every cook. I use cast iron oil after every cook. The sunlight is showing an odd glare on those, but they are high temp grates, and it’s not rust. I cook on those specific grates at 500+ degrees. Something you cant do on a Traeger. That’s the color you see ...from the high temp usage. It’s not rusty. You can see how clean the stainless grates are. This smoker has had a ton of use. I’ve done around 600 cooks on it. It’s also stored outdoors in extreme Midwestern temperatures. I don’t think you would find a grill/smoker in better shape for the usage.

Where do you guys typically get you wood? Out in the wild? Local supply stores? or online somewhere?
@FIREDUpBrewsBBQs
@FIREDUpBrewsBBQs 3 жыл бұрын
Depending on where you live, this can be a challenge. Of course, you can buy wood online, but they rip you off. The best is if you can find a local person who sells smoking wood. If you can’t find anyone, the best thing to do is to call local tree removal services. Small businesses that are local to you. They cut down trees every day, and you can request specific types of wood. You will need to season this wood for a while before using it, but it’s what I’ve been doing. I get a new tree each summer...store it in my garage, and it’s ready the next spring. Cheers! 🍻
