No it's not, I always wondered why I'm not a fan. The comment below was when I found out. Just reminds me to look at packaging more often as it clearly says on the front of the pack "no soy"

I reduced the amount of ingredients because I didn't want such a large base so the written ingredients are correct but the base will be quite large

I was making this and thought “these look very large, I wonder if I should break them up?” So went looking for a video. Watched one of the ones from Jamie Oliver’s channel and it was not helpful at all since it was a slightly different recipe with leeks. He has another one that briefly covers this exact recipe but I couldn’t figure out if he broke them up because the segment was like less than a minute long. All that to say…thank you for your video! You broke them up and yours turned out just fine so I decided I would also break mine up.

Yes it is a lot of trouble but I did this for Xmas day for 3 people so it freed up oven space - dinner was for 1 meat eater and 2 vegetarians 1 of which is gluten free so I needed the space. I will say though the potatoes were good

Correct - the name of the pans used in these video is Copper Stone Pan but there is no copper in any of the layers just a copper finish

Hello Sam Much better than your first Quorn Burger, I have been making Quorn burgers for about 12 years. I am vegan (not by choice) but I use vegan Quorn, and ingredients, almost the same as your recipe (apart from the Chilli & Paprika powder). I use an (Orgran) egg replacer 2 Tsp £7.99 (plus 2 Tbls 30ml of cold water), 1 Tsp of Potato Starch £6.80 680grms, 1/2 Tsp Rice Flour £5.00 1kg, and 1/2 Xanthan Gum powder £6.69 260gms, and because of this extra dry powder add another 1Tbls of cold water, and 1Tsp of Vegemite (you can use Marmite or Bovril), after standing, if mix is still dry add between 1 - 3Tsp of cold water. Mix all of this together and leave to stand for 5 - 10 minutes until very, very sticky (almost dry but easy to compress, I weigh my finished mix and split it into 4 burgers (I use Wax Papers in my Burger Press), after making 4 equal burgers I place on a plate in the freezer for 30 minutes or overnight.

Thank you for sharing your recipe, I hope this helps other vegans!! The first time I did this I followed a recipe i found and your right it was not great but after a few attempts I think I got a good mix, I made this in mind of a gluten free vegetarian in the family and its hard to find gluten free burgers unless you buy the really expensive ones and they always seemed really bland!!

Wow didn't realise it has been that long!!! I would say under heavy usage (approx 3 to 4 times a week) these pans lasted around 1 year. I still use the larger one now and it is still OK but it could be weeks at a time that I do not use it.

Quorn is not soya based, it is a mushroom mycoprotein. Nice attempt tho, have been searching for a Quorn Burger recipe for forever,
