Yeah, believe it or not, one thing I liked from Chip n' Dale were the background characters that WEREN'T from something. Take Betty for example, the toon goat that went to school and was called out for not wearing pants. She just looked so sweet, and her animation was so smooth!

I think it doesn’t help that a lot of these people are children and don’t know how to handle their disappointment. With people so passionate about their favorite characters people aren’t even excited about the game anymore, more just the dopamine hit of being validated for their character pick. I must admit that, with the Splatoon, Fire Emblem, Kirby, Pokemon and Mario community as well, the Super Smash Bros community is one of the several Nintendo community to have a lot of toxicity and drama in it. People always act cringe by complaint about every Nintendo Direct about the new Smash Bros DLC characters by always say negative stuff about the characters they got such "Not another sword character in smash" or "Banjo and Kazooie aren't a real video game characters because Bandana Waddle Dee is more better as a real video game character" and others stupid nonsense things. Sakurai and the Smash Bros dev do their best for made their Smash Bros game more better by add extra content in it and people always found a way to throw salt on it despite, at start, the Super Smash Bros serie wasn't into DLC stuff as we can remember for Super Smash Bros 64 to Brawl and people didn't complaint about it so, since the DLC exist for the Super Smash Bros game since the 3DS/Wii U Smash game, people always want more like if Sakurai and the Smash Bros dev was their slave by ask this or that despite it's not their own video game. However, despite it's not smart for the Smash Bros community to throw death treat to the Sakurai Twitter account for have add Byleth and not have adding Waluigi or others characters and that, during the Byleth drama, the Fire Emblem community wasn't better than them to say that they think it was funny to see the Smash Bros players throw death treat to Sakurai just for their favorite Fire Emblem characters in Smash so I don't understand about in what it's supposed to be funny to see someone receive death treat, harassment and hurtful words that those can push someone to suicid himself so I hope one day that someone will do the same for those morron who think death treat, harassment and hurtful words are funny just for see if they will still think it's funny or if they change their mind, there are some part that I'm agreed with them but there are very few while I'm most of the time not on the same side with them. The only point that I'm agreed with the Smash Bros community is that there is too much Mario, Pokemon and Fire Emblem in Smash while we don't have much playable Star Fox, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Earthbound, Kirby, F-Zero, Mega Man, Sonic, Donkey Kong characters in Smash as the favoritism go toward Mario, Pokemon and Fire Emblem who get more and more characters in the next Smash Bros despite it supposed to be called "Super Smash Bros" and not "Super Smash Pokemon, Kirby, Mario Bros" so the roster in those last Smash Bros game are not balanced at all with the fact that Sakurai say it's not his fault as he throw the fault on what Nintendo want and ask him to do so no longer wonder why something is wrong with the unbalanced roster as Nintendo seem to have somes favoritism among their exclusive franchise just like the exclusive game they release on the Switch. After all we got more than 10 Mario and Pokemon, 7 Zelda games, 6 Kirby games and 5 Fire Emblem games on the Switch while Nintendo seem to not care anymore about their others franchise with 0 Star Fox, F-Zero, Kid Icarus and Tomodachi Life games, just 2 old Donkey Kong Country game port but nothing for a new fresh game, 3 Metroid games, one Animal Crossing game with one new fresh Pikmin game and 3 port while Splatoon get one game too much on the Switch (I don't see what the point to made another big Splatoon game on the same console as we have already the 2 on the Switch and that was enough while the 3 should have been a starter game for a next Nintendo console for bring the public on it as Splatoon have a big community on it so it's like having two Super Smash Bros game and two Mario Kart games on the same console despite it supposed to be one big game per console) so the lack of variety among the Nintendo franchise is one of the several reason about why, rumour of Switch 2 or not, I'm not planned to buy their next console except if they release a new Star Fox, Metroid and Smash Bros on it who gonna be my only reason about why I should care about Nintendo again and buy their next console as I don't expect anything about them anymore unlike the past when Iwata was still here. Plus, if people aren't happy about swordman characters or don't get the characters that they want in Smash, nobody ask them to keep playing about the Super Smash Bros game if it's just for complaint all the time or to move their ass for create their own content with the help of modding despite Nintendo hate mods instead throw death treat to Sakurai. After all I never waited that Sakurai announce somes characters that I got in mind in the game as I know their popularity is inferior than Waluigi or others characters that people ask a lot for create my own modding stuff into Super Smash Bros Brawl which it's the only Smash Bros game that I have under my hand for modding and that it's more easy for me to mods unlike the Smash Ultimate modding who seem more complicated to do when I see the tutorial about it so I must admit my own custom Super Smash Bros Brawl game is definitively more better than the original Super Smash Bros Ultimate game which Ultimate don't have more playable Star Fox, Sonic, Mega Man characters and neither any Digimon, Skylanders, Transformers characters in it unlike my own Smash Bros game who have now more swordman characters but the best swordman characters in it such Krypt King, Wild Storm, Raziel, Craniamon, Gallantmon, Craniamon X, Omegamon and more so, if I have succeed to mods it with Blender and Brawlbox, why not the same things for all those others people who keep complaint about Smash but do nothing on their side?

The Smash fans are just angry because DOOM GUY, Waluigi, Geno, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot didn't get in and they're even making mods so that these characters can have a place in the greatest fighting game ever. I mean Waluigi did show up, but as an Assist Trophy. I'm just thankful that Sephiroth, my main since December 2020, got in, including Sora from Kingdom Hearts. I'm VERY appreciative with the hard work that both Nintendo AND Bandai did to Smash Bros. Ultimate, bringing all of these guest characters in to show what they're made of. The reveal trailer that is still burned into my mind is that EPIC Sephiroth trailer way back from December 2020 and the EPIC Sephiroth Challenge that came along with him, including the Spirit Board. And HOLY CRAP. When I noticed that Bandai NAMCO was working together with Nintendo on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, I lost it, because I knew from childhood that Bandai Namco worked on Digimon Rumble Arena 2, a game I played back in my younger years and loved it. In that game, my main Digimon was Black Growlmon.

I very much agree with your point of Roger Rabbit having purpose with its cameo choices beyond 'remember this character???'. A real good example is Eddie's interaction with Betty Boop. It's been a hot minute since I saw the scene, but it does so much for Eddie's character. He's been so anti toon and hostile to all of them, but softens up immediately with her. There's an implied history and a peek into the old Eddie before he lost his brother. And it works with her specifically because she's a black and white older toon and has a personality that'd fit the roll (basically alot more grounded). I still haven't seen the Rescue Rangers movie because as much as I love animation of all forms it just felt cynical from the trailer. That and cheap. Roger Rabbit is dark and adult, but the world goes above and beyond to make the toon logic work and has fun with it. Like Jessica Rabbit's entire design is genius. Drawn like a sex bomb, set up to be a villain, but nope she loves this goofy rabbit because he's funny and makes her laugh. It's such a great way to play with a character like that and make her as memorable as she is. Not to mention the art direction of Roger Rabbit. The toons are all desaturated to help them fit that noir lighting. Whiiiiiich is more than I can say for Rescue Rangers.

Min-Min: >One of the more fan-favorite characters from ARMS. >Isn't really considered hype worthy/got in over Spring Man. A fantastic video! I feel like the majority of Smash fans are delighted when it comes to new fighters, regardless of who it is, but of course a very loud minority of people seem to sour the experience and sometimes take joy in doing so. I must admit it got me thinking of a charcater I would personally add: Amarant Coral from Final Fantasy 9! People like to complain about popular choices like Sora and Banjo, asking "who wanted this?!", well how about adding a character that virtually NO ONE asked for (apart from me and about 5 other people on Earth!). 😅

Smash fans don’t deserve their own game

God, I really resonate with this video. Honestly, the Smash fandom started getting toxic the instant they added 3rd party characters (that's not to say I don't like them). People started going crazy with expectations of big 3rd party characters being included and get upset when they end up being left out. When it comes to what fighters people want in the game, people who want Nintendo-owned characters are usually ganged up on because they're deemed "lame" choices, even between Nintendo fandoms themselves. That's not to say there isn't conflict between 3rd party fandoms either, or that Nintendo fans don't throw fits over 3rd party picks, but most of the hostility I've seen is directed towards Nintendo picks. People tend to forget that Smash is a 1st party ip owned by Nintendo and is meant to celebrate Nintendo first and foremost, not exactly gaming as a whole. These 3rd party characters are merely guest characters, and a good chunk of them aren't exactly likely to return. Characters like Bandana Waddle Dee, Dixie Kong, Octoling, Ninten, etc. have greater chances of appearing as fighters than characters like Dante or Sora again. People mostly bash characters from franchises they are unfamiliar with. Of course a big chunk of the Smash fandom is made up of the infamous "who asked for this" type of people who are blatantly ignorant of other games and their fans existing. When people say "Nintendo fans only play Mario and Zelda," it's usually in regards to Smash discourse because of how insufferable it can be if you're not part of those fandoms, usually because those are 1st party franchises that are popular enough to be deemed "worthy" of a character slot or whatever. Speaking from my own experience here, the Kirby series tends to be the Smash community's personal punching bag for some reason, and is usually attacked by people who don't play Kirby from what I've seen. If you so much as mention Bandana Waddle Dee in any capacity, Smash fans will go ballistic and spew endless insults because he's "lame" for a character pick. God forbid you want another Kirby fighter after the last new fighter the series got was, at the time of Ultimate's final DLC, 13 years ago. I find it especially ironic considering that the Kirby series was created by Sakurai, and without it, a lot of core mechanics in Smash wouldn't exist. Ultimately, the best thing to do in regards to the Smash fandom is to keep to yourself or to a small circle of people like you who don't throw tantrums when people want characters that they don't, and are open to a fighter joining Smash even if they're unfamiliar with their franchise, avoiding all the drama. That's what I do, and Smash is actually really fun when you don't have someone screaming in your ear that the slot should have gone to someone else. Sorry for the rant.

I think the only way that the FGC would get even close to as bent out of shape over a character reveal as the Smash community does is if Capcom brought back, like, Rufus or El Fuerte in SF6.

I just want to say something, if they don't include the character as a playable character, hope it's announced as a mii costume. The miis are there for a reason, so you can make them play like characters that aren't in smash

Downvoting is so common for the oppressed. -DLC privilege exists, but base characters can be absurdly broken too, like Lucina, Meta Knight, Lucario because of low frame data. -I will never respect someone who suggests going to locals. I never found the appeal of tournaments. -Smash Bros WiiU/3DS isn’t bad. It lacks content, but it’s fun to play because it’s simply less stressful. -People need to stop asking for characters like Geno or Phoenix Wright. What moves would they have? -Not all Smash Bros players are “smelly.” Just like how not all Fortnite players are loud children. -I never had an issue with the DLC characters being revealed. My favorite character were already in the game. It only got annoying to me when I had to start fighting them, and my first exposure to DLC fighters was with Byleth. Not fun. -Going back to the appeal topic, I don’t care about these content creators. I am not going to let their opinions on a specific Smash Bros game or character change my mind about anything related to Smash Bros. -Byleth was an awesome addition. People simply don’t like Fire Emblem because “anime sword fighters.” I don’t remember people making those complaints back in 2014/2016. -Attack or projectile spam is real, and sweaty players should not be defended.

As somebody who knew little about some of the DLC fighters when they released, I went and played the games they were from and all i have to say is not a single "slot" was wasted. Respect to Sakurai and the ACTUAL Smash fans who care for the legacy of gaming and not the little babies that cry about every inclusion.

There’s a TON of problems with the smash bros community

Me personally , I would have liked to see The Heavy from Team Fortress 2 added to the roster , but I know it is impossible , or nearly impossible . Plus , knowing how most of the community reacts to the newcomers , they WOULD ruin it for me

The problem I also see is too many people dont see how niche some of their own picks can be. All the Geno stuff annoyed me especially after the terry reveal. Geno was in 1 rpg game that was hardley that popular at the time. And a few smaller cameos. Mario rpg was locked to the snes. Terry meanwhile was a protagonist of street fighters rival series. And then had been in every king of fighters. Guy that had been in 1 niche RPG and some cameos in other mario RPGs vs a guy who had been in a yearly series from 93- 02. It’s pretty insane that series like Mario & Luigi, 2D Zelda, and Metroid Prime are finally getting a new game after how long it’s been since the last one. Despite how late we are into the Switch’s life and many expecting this direct to not reveal that many new games, Nintendo blew it out of the park. I’m really looking forward to these games

Seeing as how I’m one of the people in the fanbase who were mad over some of the dlc characters being included in Smash Ultimate, i would like to apologize my behavior for ranting on some of your favorite characters. I do think i had karma because I basically witnessed smash players criticizing some of the inclusions in Smash 4 for not being what they wanted, and than I basically criticized some characters in Smash Ultimate for being bad choices. I definitely need to get a slap in the face or something.
