I'm from the UK The Ford Sierra was one of the most popular cars when I was growing up Everyone had one . I was shocked to see it didn't do well in the USA Ford should have given it a better name .

All the used 80s cars i ever owned were all analog tech. I'm guessing the more advanced tech was less common and more expensive. I knew one person in highschool who drove a 1985 ford tempo with the all digital dash. Including digital speedometer.

I've never seen an in dash cd player but i have seen in dash cassette player in the 80s. It wasn't till the late 90s early 00's i started to see in dash cd players in vehicle's.

You forgot the Saab 9-3 and Cadillac BLS. Also the Mitsubishis rebadged as Dodge models including the Challenger.

Another thing that helped with the Chrysler govt bail out was the big federal contract for vehicles. The navy had lots of white d50 pickups an k car sedans ect.

I know in Canada in the 1990's we did get the Mercury Villager vans, and they discontinued them after the first generation, and we never got the second generation, however we did get all versions of the Nissan Quest vans, in every generation. I think by 1996 the majority of Mercury branded vehicles was on the decline, as Ford slowly phased out each model of Mercury starting in 1996 with the Tracer (we never got the refreshed version of this 1997 Escort), then the 2 generation of the Sable ended, followed by the second generation of Mystique ending, up until the Cougar & Grand Marquis were the only 2 models left, and they were gone when their model lines ended production as well.

I think the Aztek is quite an attractive SUV when it has paint matched body cladding. I like the sporty SUV look. I have lost alot of friends and acquaintances respect with this opinion 😂

I had a 1985 diesel Tempo with a standard and that car flat got 50mpg on the highway and if I babied some, I could get 55mpg on a long road trip. It got 45 in town and cost me around $10 to fill up. I never had a mechanical issue with it, just tires, batteries and oil changes.

The Saab front end is better looking than the Subarus. If Honda went and bought the crossroads from Land Rover incomplete and then put their own drivetrain in electrical systems in it, that would have been a big seller. All the pluses of a Land Rover with the reliability of a Honda

The monaro Pontiac GTO was One of the few decent cars gms sold recently. Also is a good reason to note that we could have had El Camino since 1988. They just would have had to have imported them from Australia and changed the grill

I would still consider having a Cadillac Cimarron. As long as it was offered with the 2.8 liter V6, automatic, and air conditioning, it would be perfect for me. I would probably add a turbo kit for the V6 to get more power out of it.

I wouldn’t mind having a manual transmission 90s Escort today, especially a wagon.

The 3800 is a great engine and the supercharged versions can make excellent power with some mods. Burnouts aren't wise the transmission is the weak link

Another quite common problem with the plastic cladding on 90s Suvs was rust. If you saw it creeping above the plasic on the door for example, it usually meant that the rest of the metal under the cover was already completely gone. I do like the look though, as today it already makes the car look kinda retro.

Same with vans with the fiberglass running boards/ wheelwell combination kits, and most mudflaps, bodyside mouldings. They ALL trap dirt and moisture behind them and it's terrible after a few years. Same with wheelcovers, plain basic bodies are the best as well as the easiest to maintain. 🐾🐶🐕
