Just looking at the old tyme film with this, it’s interesting how different the actual ice rink looked back in the I assume 1930s when most of this is from. No red line. No faceoff circles. No center logo. No goalie crease. Fencing and not plexiglass above the boards. The ice was on non-painted concrete.

I learned from Stevens, in the end I learned, All the men I hurt, it wasnt worth it. The fights, yes, the blindside predatorial hits, nope. It feld better toe to toe than ruining careers.

He could also set up his teammates as well, one year he had 83 assists along with 64 goals !

A lot of the time Neidermeyer would bait players into crossing into Stevens, which is exactly what happened with Lindros.

Lindros developed a BAD habit of skating with his head down since youth hockey. He was always the biggest and strongest on the ice no one could take him..until the NHL..

Anyone who ever thought Don Cherry "aka The Village Idiot" ever made any sense needs some serious proffessional help..this guy is a quak....and fired from every job he's ever held.

If half of Don's podcast was on during the intermission of HNIC it would have more views than the game itself.

That is the rockets last goal. Of note.He beat tim horton twice on the same play!! Tim hortons probably never gave the rocket a free coffee after that. I saw him play from the blue line in he was not stoppable

Cherry is an idiot. Crowder easily over Probert in the first fight -- busts him up. Crowder is also winning the second fight until Probert undresses. Whatever victory Probert had in the second fight, Crowder destroys Probert in the third fight later the same night. Funny how Cherry says nothing about Crowder pounding Probert with about 30 punches.

When I learned about his smoking, I was just amazed. How can you smoke and have lungs to skate like that ? Amazing. However, I find that that adds to the mystic of the dude. It doesn’t make any sense, but then he became one of the greatest. So, what you can assume is that their are people that we can’t explain.

He was cool. I can’t believed he smoked like he did.

Grapes was biaised by the fact that Turgeon was a scumbag piece of shit. Turgeon turned his back during Canada's punch-up in Piestany. Hunter cheapshotted Turgeon, badly. But it was deserved. Turgeon is a moron.

I got to meet Guy and play against him in an Old Timer's hockey game in Sarnia. Don Cherry is absolutely right about him. Very quiet ....almost shy but a very fun sense of humour. To back up what Don said about him wanting just to be one of the guys ....I asked him about playing in New York as compared to Montreal. He said in New York after practice and after the games the players mostly went on their own. He said the game had changed and the players started acting more like businessmen than athletes. Everyone was interested in talking to their agents about contracts and their business investmentsThe camaraderie was gone.
