the first phrase of the video "this studio apartment is what gave me the chance to start all over again". I've been looked down on multiple times for living on a 27sqm but this place helped me to find myself, to create myself again.

Super Finds! The denim dress looks great on you! What surprises me is that the clothes are all secured, do people steal so much even in 2nd hand stores?

Wow, your food is such a good price there. Ours is out of control expensive here in the US and I'm in the middle Midwest. Had to start growing food the last couple years to help with the costs. TY for sharing ☺️

You could mash parsnips with other root vegetables!
@AthynVixen14 күн бұрын
Parsnips make a fantastic soup - either in addition to other vegetables like carrot or just on their own. Often you find them cheap because not a lot of people know or like them.

I love parsnip! It works well in soups, and I had it yesterday in a vegan curry. It takes a bit longer to make, but it freezes well and is super filling and creamy! The recipe is quite simple: dice an onion and fry it, then add parsnip, carrots, white beans (pre-cooked), garlic, cumin, turmeric and paprika powder (the official recipe has amounts added but I'd say veggies+beans depending on how hungry you are/how much portions you're making and spices all to taste). Fry all that together for a few minutes, then add (light) coconut milk (around 400-500ml for two portions), some water if needed (if the coconut milk isn't enough to cover all the veggies) and a vegetable bouillon cube. Bring to a boil and then let simmer for about 25 minutes (until the veggies are fully cooked and the curry has the required thickness). It's good with naan or pita, but might not be necessary as it is quite filling on its own. If you (or anyone reading this comment) decides to make this, hope you enjoy!

Are you in Germany or does Lidl in other countries not localize their packaging?
@TheSimplicityDiaries13 күн бұрын
I live in Germany so I try to prefer produce from Germany that haven’t been imported from other countries
@an785514 күн бұрын
Beer is NOT more expensive than water. A large bottle of course will be, but is illegal in Germany to have nothing non-alcoholic cheaper or at least same price as something alcoholic. Often it is tea if it isn't a normal sized glass of (sparkling) water. I don't like eating without any beverage so I often have tea with my food at a restaurant

Rewe often has frozen broccoli
@TheSimplicityDiaries13 күн бұрын
Unfortunately when I shop at the Rewe closest to me I don’t always find them. And my local Lidl has them even less often. If I want to keep feeding my broccoli addiction, I should enlarge my supermarket network I guess 😂

Parsnips are great french fries. I prefer them airfryered witg a little bit of olive oil. And they are delicious in soups instead of celery root

I don’t have an air fryer but will definitely try to make parsnip french fries in the oven! Thanks for the tip! 🤍🤗

Parsnips can be boiled and mashed like potatoes. And, then you could use it to make a “creamy” soup.

what stood out for me was the TEN pack of eggs???? Ten? I've only ever in my 64 yrs seen eggs sold as a dozen and half dozen.
@coraclouden250614 күн бұрын
I see packs of 10 in most shops - usually organic or higher welfare eggs. 6 or 12 is certainly more usual though
@TheSimplicityDiaries14 күн бұрын
@shess1640 I actually never really thought about it, but I think you‘re right! A dozen or half a dozen are the most common quantities, but in german supermarkets I do see the 10 packs quite often.. maybe it varies from country to country!
@an785514 күн бұрын
In Germany 10 and 6 are the "normal" sizes. Sometimes there are also 4 in a pack or you choose yourself and they have just open cases and empty Containers(also 6 or 10 of course). And they are not refridgerated because we don't wash them before selling. They last 4-6 weeks. And the Containers are always some Kind of cardboard, never styrofoam.

I lived in a studio early on for about 18 months. The negative is that it was basement level. Im debating on downsizing to a slightly bigger one on an upper level next year especially if my rent continues to go up.

Belated Happy Birthday 🎉🎉🎉. I have been trying over the years to keep my finances in check, but never seem to be able to stick to things for long 🤦🏾♀️ I've bought one of the savings plan sheets that you have created. Answering your question: First of all, keep your calm and your inner peace. But don't argue. Don't fight. Your happiness is more important than an Ikea rug. If that establishment does not offer you anything to compensate you, tell them that they are losing you as a customer, and put a claim in writing. No fights, No unpleasant words. Then forget about everything, enjoy life, and keep your peace.
