I have MURS channels programmed in my radios in case of an emergency situation, such as a natural disaster. It's good to have the frequencies handy since you wouldn't be able to look them up if the grid was down. MURS, FRS, and GMRS are good tools to have, along with CB. GMRS doesn't require any tests to get a license, and the others require no license. Using these bands are good options for normal people, as it keeps us out of the way of Hams or other radio services. Edit: If the antenna is removable on your HT, you can get a mag mount with an adapter and use the same antenna on the roof of your vehicle with much better results.

Good video, I liked how you add little videos showing how the tools work like when screwing. However, I did notice that this tool yields (flexes) when you apply some good torque tightening a screw. I realized that you let go at the same time you feel the tool flexes. I bought a Rocktol (very cheap), and it does the same thing when applying torque. I thought it was bc it was cheap. Thanks.

Ferro rod / w Celluloid guitar Picks for ignition. I have the nite core tiki. Lightweight, 300 lum, long battery life. Usb c rechargable. For a knife i am up grading to the SAK mini champ. And i have 3 d printed scales coming. That hold(1) pin (2) tweezers (3) swap out the tooth pick, for a tortoise gear ferro rod. True utility Pen True utility nail clippers. Nathan 4071 ferro ro custom with deer antler handles and deer antler HSS Striker. But you could swap that out for a Nexland CK1 Ceramic Striker and Knife. 2 in one.Thinking of getting some slim quality nail clippers.

2'33" Just what I was looking for! I was wondering if this knife had a chisel grind or flat grind. Thank-you for showing the knife from both sides! I'm thinking the micro edc knife will also have this same 'grind.'

I bought a TruArc5 yesterday and returned it today. I found that holding it unleveled affects the needle. I spent a couple of hours playing with it and found it frustrating. My Suuntos don’t have this issue. You do need to hold a compass relatively level to use, but I found the Brunton too fiddly.

There is no need for a wilderness survival kit to be so small as to fit in an Altoids tin. Here is my kit that fits in a small fanny pack : Belt Pack or Fanny Pack Survival Kit : Zip-Loc bag as waterproof liner Bic lighter wrapped with Gorilla tape, rubber band, twist tie, wire, relectve orange paracord and tab blocked to prevent leakage. Match book from MRE ( water resistant) Fresnel lens Button compass Whistle (loud flat one from Tops Knives) Toothpick Diaper pin Sabre saw blade Hacksaw blade piece Razor blade ( single edge) Needle P-38 can opener * *( sharp items taped onto a card with clear packaging tape ) Photon Micro Lite flashlight Zip tie Pencil stub and paper Trail marking clip tab Clif bar snack Condom as emergency canteen (unlubricated) Coffee filter Large Bandaid and small Bandaid Alcohol prep pad Benedryl pills (3) Imodium A-D (2) Q-Tip Aluminum foil ( folded) for bowl making, cooking, signeling Chemical hand warmer Moleskin Rubber square from inner tube with cuts as fire starter Sandpaper Square 400 Grit for knife sharpening Dental floss roll ( unwaxed and removed from housing) Mylar space blanket with ranger band around it Rain emergency poncho NOTE : Many items are useful as tinder and otherwise multi-purpose. Weight under 1.5 pounds. This kit will be attached to you even if you aren't carrying a backpack or lose your pack. It is portable enough to obviate the need for an Altoids tin kit or other inadequate gimmicky survival kit.

One year review where the reviewer has barely worn the watch . It looks like new . I wore mine daily for 6 months and had to retire it because the aluminium bezel was showing damage. When i tried to buy a replacement i realised it would be easier to buy a unicorn

I own this same tent. I've been using it for three years. The author of this video is accurate with his information. He's done a good job here. Gamme 4 supports 3 adults and a child or 4 small adults. When using it with a stove, you can only get two adults in the tent. When using it with a cot, you can only fit one adult and a stove. The Gamme 4 does not come seam sealed. You'll have to do it yourself. It doesn't have a floor add on. Only the 6 and 8 do. It does support an inner tent which has a 3/4 floor. If you want a full floor you'll have to create your own. If you are interested in this tent, my suggestion is you buy the 6 or 8. Do not buy the 4. It's just too small unless you plan on going solo.

Just picked this pack up for 40$ with tags still on it from marketplace. Definitely a great pack for that price. Cant wait to take it out for a field test. Right now i have my usgi wool blanket and woobie in it with a bunch of other supplies and have my snugpack bivy tent. Theres still tons of room left for other stuff lol

Any ideas how they might mitigate the fly & weight issues? For example, errorproof instructions for an independent fly setup like yours; lighter but still highly durable material (Gore-Tex? Titanium tensioners? etc.); make the protective mattress cover standard; etc.? I’d pay $50-$100 more to bring the weight down 15-20%

I carried a sog assisted folder for close to twelve years before I finally destroyed it this year…and if I wouldn’t have tried to use it as a prybar it would be in my pocket today…I like the little softer steel in the blade, it’s a snap to put an edge on…may have to do it more often but it always sharpens up nice…the harder steels are too brittle…for the money can’t go wrong…just bought my third of these particular ones today…Truck, EDC pack, Range bag…

They claim MILES of visibility. Testing shows you can drive up to within less than 1/4 mile before they are even noticed at night. Often about 100 ft. A car going 60 mph covers 88 ft per second! Add in reaction time and braking distance and by the time someone sees you they are far beyond your position! I like them, but they should be forthcoming about the visibility. if they have some actual testing videos, I would like to see them and it might change my mind
