@duanec.sutherland52929 күн бұрын
Hey buddy! Don't be seduced by large dividends. Concentrate on total return. There is no sense in collecting large dividends if your overall investment is going down however I’d say SPYI, JEPQ, QQI and IWMI. But do your research. Personally I put down 1.3m$ on few ETFs, still diversifying. Earning season is around the corner, It was this time last year I made a huge break through with 200k. Handed it to a firm here in Texas, I get weekly pay out which I put back on long term ETF's. IWM will probably crush it this quarter

Sorry mate, but it's a lot simpler than that for any Australian poor or rich. 1. Stop burning stuff (personally) . This is predominantly fossil fuel cars and natural gas at home. If you move to electric, you are no longer personally producing any co2. 2. Don't worry about electrical efficiency to reduce CO2. The grid is moving off fossil fuels faster than you can make efficient improvements, and if the grid becomes 100% renewable, then you can use as much power as you like. So lobby and vote for governments that will fast track a renewable grid. It's that simple.

i think there's a lot of the good sides about property is the fact that you invest % and the renter pays it off, if the rent isn't enough to cover the monthly payments off you can negative gear it, i pay a lot in tax so i get a lot of that back though negative gearing also if your looking at the right property the rent can cover the repayments and also the rates etc. where you do nothing after your first investment, you can buy both theses options. i also do love the stock market but in the stock market I'm more interested in heigh risk heigh reward bring me back to 2010 NVidia stock please, even now its a good buy and will keep buying for some years dollar cost averaging ivv vgs vas etc. there all good don't get me wrong but I'm leaving the safe side of my portfolio to property.

Nice comparison Chris! Although given the amount of money printing (currency debasement) since 2008, it would be good to see what the "real" returns are. Probably still great for IOO, just think the average punter is missing the true significance of inflation. Cheers

In my opinion, the only great advantage in real estate investment is easy leverage on purchases. It can be bad if you can't manage the repayment if the property stays vacant.

The market trend can turn around very quickly. In fact, the indexes often switch from a bear market to a bull market when the news is at its worst and the mood of investors is at its lowest point. I read an article of people that grossed profits up to $150k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist?

In particular, amid inflation, investors should exercise caution when it comes to their exposure and new purchases. It is only feasible to get such high yields during a recession with the guidance of a qualified specialist or reliable counsel.

True, initially I wasn't quite impressed with my gains, opposed to my previous performances, I was doing so badly, figured I needed to diverssify into better assets, I touched base with a portfolio-advisor and that same year, I pulled a net gain of 550k...that's like 7times more than I average on my own.

I think its fine to have most of your portfolio unhedge, if you understand that if your local currency strengthens such that your portfolio returns are lower, that should also be offset over the long term by increased purchasing power your portfolio buys ounce converted to local currency.

G'day Chris, did you know that if someone were to set up an EFT fund like the Betashares A200 with an initial deposit of 10k and then deposited just $100 per month for 50 years, it would work out to over 3 million dollars? I think every parent with the financial means to do so should set up an EFT fund for their child from day 1 by doing this. When the child is old enough to start working, they can continue with $100 monthly deposits. A comfortable retirement could then be achieved by age 50 or perhaps earlier. What do you think?

@Chris Brycki, Stockspot good insight on underlying mechanisms of VDHG or VDGR. What are those unlisted funds. I wish you were a bit more detailed rather than high level details and data to back up always helps such as what are the 15 holdings in VDHG or VDGR and which ones are unlisted
@CharlesVaughn-bm9gq2 ай бұрын
TQQQ has annual return of over 30% the last ten years despite losing 75% in 2022. Expenses are around 1.5% in some of the these ETF’s.

It’s simple if you follow best investors and the classic example of Rick Guerin who borrowed to invest never do it because the cost of borrowing can change over time. So simple laws of inversion don’t use leverage to invest
