Sorry mate, but it's a lot simpler than that for any Australian poor or rich. 1. Stop burning stuff (personally) . This is predominantly fossil fuel cars and natural gas at home. If you move to electric, you are no longer personally producing any co2. 2. Don't worry about electrical efficiency to reduce CO2. The grid is moving off fossil fuels faster than you can make efficient improvements, and if the grid becomes 100% renewable, then you can use as much power as you like. So lobby and vote for governments that will fast track a renewable grid. It's that simple.

Stop touring holidays that involve flying, international and interstate. Tax aviation fuel the same as land based use.
