(3:13) i dink(think) it's nut(not) water pump but an air pump*. Other than an injector to fill water into the boiler, there's no water pump. Maybe there's a water pump from the tender into a pre-heat tank B4 the hot water is injected into the boiler. Do the sound module produce a synchronized crank crank bang bang sound of the rods? ____________ *An air pump is powered by steam, the pmp is used for brakes

Beautiful models and very well worked. But I observe two aspects that make them very ugly. First, the control is integrated and next to it. Not connectable later to this without clashing with the landscape and decoration. Second, the speed of the trains. A small European 0-3-0 steam locomotive type V 80 or German 89, it is not a fast high-speed train ICE.

ah translation joys! Gang is both "gear" and "hallway" or "passageway" in English, so that's how you get shunting aisle instead of shunting gear

We made a few 1-Gauge videos but they are very difficult to make. You need a massive layout and handling the large heavy models is a nightmare. Just removing them out of the box is so difficult.

I have the Prussian version. This is a beautiful model, but with one drawback for model railway operation. There is no provision for a working front coupler on either the original Roco release in the early 2000s or the later Fleischmann re-issue post 2010. As it has not been re-issued since then it is about due, but I hope if it is re-issued, presumably under the Roco label, it will be modified to provide an NEM coupler pocket at the front. However it was used in real life, in model branch-line operations it needs to be able to run on small layouts which don't have loco turntables, i.e. it needs to be able to haul a short passenger train running tender first! I totally agree because this locomotive was a branch line locomotive a front coupler should of been added. I guess the cared more about the overall esthetics instead of functionality.

I think the reason for no front coupler pocket may be the lack of space between the leading axle and the front buffer beam. This model is relatively new, introduced by Roco in 2002 and re-issued as Fleischmann from 2013. I was surprised when I got my Roco model, because much earlier Roco models, e.g. the KPEV T12 2-6-0 Tank, first introduced in 1985, has an arrangement where the model as supplied has no front coupler pocket fitted, for appearance reasons as you say, but the parts bag contains an alternate part for the big red cylinder under the front buffer beam which has a cut-out for the NEM coupler pocket, and the parts can be swapped with just a screwdriver. So if Roco could do this in 1985, why not in 2002? I have looked at how an NEM pocket or body-mounted Kadee coupler box might be fitted, but there is nothing to mount it on. I think one solution for a future release might be for Roco / Fleischmann to produce a spare pony truck with a pony-mounted coupler pocket. That seems a big ask of Roco, but it is a very expensive loco, and it might boost sales. Best Regards, Bill.@@ReynauldsEuroImports

I've got two of these, both with less than an hours running. One has died, completely! the other works intermittently. Cant seem to find any guides to take the loco apart(if I did it would violate the warranty anywhere). My issue is having to 'return these to Germany from the UK when ESU have retailers here that could facilitate repairs exchange. Perhaps ESU could assist?
