I remember one funny time when an impid raid basically decimated itself. Some animal went berserk in the middle of their group and everyone spewed fire - the whole raid of ~100 pawns went up in flames. They are honestly an underpowered xenotype in my book. They pay a very hefty price for speed and firespew. Their signature firespew is mostly just a gimmick and becomes a problem only when massed. As colonists, Impids are exceptionally mediocre. They make good haulers and work well enough in roles that require speed and delivering materials. BUT... it is harder to keep them happy, and their slow healing and low immunity makes them poor combatants - any wound means fairly extended downtime, and diseases become a fairly significant threat to them - including wound infections. As for the last manhunter pack... Skip hounds from Alpha Animals - I was completely unprepared for a pack of 40 or so teleporting dogs.

I just did the same before watching this. Also can you help me? I have chunk vec2 but i don't know how to remove it from a packedvector2array chunk list(some for reason find method just Doesn't work gives -1).... I am currently making minecraft in godot, the terrain generation is done but the destroy function Doesn’t wants to work sjsjdabsbdkkdkd

I've beaten the game losing is fun 500 per cent with highmates. The trick is to use their sexiness and high social stats to charm the empire so you can trigger the Friendlies event whenever you want. And since you have less wealth as your allies provide your defence, raids are lower strength than they usually would be

discovered a cool trick to have a hussar mechanitor first, have a highmate psychically bond with them, the psy bonus is additive, allowing them to equip a mechlink the secondary option is putting on a piece of eltex apparel DO NOT use bioferrite items for the psychic bonuses, bioferrite is multiplicative, not additive in terms of psy sensitivity

My favorite thing in this game is that you can sneak on enemies wearing power armor and just take out it's core lol Imagine feeling that you're the ultimate power in the wasteland, and some goon just steals your batteries which disables your power armor and it makes you quit it 😂😂😂 couldn't be me Also enemies can't do the same.

Honestly, psychite management is really simple, you just need to start with 6 plants skill on anyone and research psychite refining ASAP. You won't be brewing it for some time, but if you keep butchering corpses and making wort for beer you'll get the required cooking skill too.

Coagulate is the best ability in the game imo. Having a line of dudes all with coagulate firing at the enemy makes it so I never lose a pawn in a raid unless the enemy gets an instant kill shit

when you think about it, most of the xenotypes make for pretty bad colonists, hussars and wasters have genetic addictions, pigs eat raw food which makes you have to carefully monitor your food production (you can just feed them regular food but they need a ton of it) and impids have genetic pessimism, etc. and i think its to encourage you to collect genes and make your own xenotypes, the problem with that being it takes way too long

My idea would be a new xenotype that would be essentially a fusion of asari and toned down modified version of sil from species. Instead of "lethal procreation", they would be heavily divergent from standards humans as well as being situationaly a problem starter, firstly they lay egg sacs that produce slime especially when they hatch. They also shed their skin periodically and can form healing cacoons makeing even more slime. The biggest difference would be a multi stage life cycle, with only the last stage being humanoid and the others being treated like progressivly more useful animals. Finally they are hermaphrodites, natural born nudists(all the slime),amorous, naturally promiscuous and produce both farumones to help attract notes and addictive chemicals that literally makes their loven addictive. The last traits combined makes it to where unless that open is literally alone, you will eather be swamped with larvae and nymphs eating everything or a never ending cheating spree combined with drug withdrawal that can only be solved with more cheating.also hot green and purple tentical wemon.

Also make them have a mood rebuff if they don't have a mate as well as make them physically superior to normal humans, faster, stronger, tougher and extremely toxin resistant but not immune, maybe give them high immunity and dark vision.

Best mod i cannot live without so theres context here so the mod makes sense the part of rimworld that i love is my pawns i get attached to them and sometimes cry when they die... So my best mod my sugar on top my love is every single xenotype mod

One of my few successful colonies where a custom xenotype called the killer folk inspiration from all tommorows believe it or not they are very overpowered to handle the dangers of the rim especially the raiders ohh.. we ate them up well but anyways it ended with my first colonist alkurd bleeding out nearly passed out seeing his dead friends/colonist members all dead and a few slaves i decided to take alkurd and the slaves together so alkurd could rules them when they woke up again jumping into a new colony thats kind of like a sequel to that its still continuing

For me I think that gene would be immortality as the name implies your immortal you cannot die no matter what happens not a disease not a shot to the head no organs or limbs aging none of it would kill you and it would be a archo gene and i think it would have -5 metabolism since it's kinda very op

I just started my first Biotech run after not playing the game at all since a bit after Ideology came out. I spent a lot of time putting mods together, making a scenario, pawn generation, as well as map and world generarion. I do have a lot to write here, so definitely feel free to skip on over this. I did a custom scenario of 3 Tribals starting with nothing (besides the clothing and items they rolled in character creation). One being a builder and crafter-focused Baseliner, another being a planting (and cooking by chance) and psionic-focused Animakin (VE Races Phytokin), and the last one being a miner, cleaner, hauler, and melee fighter Neanderthal with the Brawler trait. (It's a fluid Ideology with Psychic Focus as the starting meme if anyone's curious. It's from the Alpha Memes mod.) The baseliner randomly rolled Uranium Plate Armor as a starting held item (not sure if that's supposed to happen, I have a lot of mods installed) so I lucked out on great armor for a tribal start. Two pack Gorillas wandered onto my map (VE Animals) in the first week, and not being able to tame them and needing food, I decided to send the Neanderthal at them while they slept, hoping poke em a couple times to cause them to at least bleed out eventually or something. The Animakin had 0 in both fighting skills, and I believe their Xenotype makes them awful at violence, (but not incapable). The Baseliner has 2 in shooting and less in melee. I decided the Neanderthal probably wouldn't die at least, and sent him slowly across the map in the Uranium Plate Armor. Being a Neanderthal with Brawler, Plate Armor, and a melee of 12, he stabbed one in the neck, right as it woke up, with a Wooden Stake (VE Tribal, very low tier, pre-neolithic melee weapon, but good against Sanguophages) and got jumped immediately by both Gorillas (understably). He was able to defeat both Gorillas in a 1v2 and came out with only a dozen or so bruises, a single destroyed toe, new supplies, and a bunch of meat for the hungry colony. Oh, but it was an absolute massacre! His first attack was to the Gorilla's neck and left it bleeding out in 6 hours, regardless of if it was fighting or not. He even got stunlocked briefly, and it didn’t even matter at all. A day later, while still recovering from the battering of bruises and without the plate armor, a Barbslinger (giant posion/tox slinging scorpion from the Alpha Animals mod) started hunting him for food. Having his movement at 30%, but being near the base's door, he was able to take 3-4 stinger shots before going down, while the Barbslinger triggered a few traps and started to bleed out in 5 hours as it ran around outside. He got rescued, and after being patched up from dying in 15 hours (with no medicine, btw), he was up and moving before the Barbslinger even collapsed from blood loss. I respect the Neanderthals so much already. They seem crazy good in the survivability and tanking aspects of Pawns. I know my circumstances were pretty unique, but I was so shocked and impressed by that outcome. I haven't even gotten the Neanderthal Raid yet, but I know I won't be ready!

Surgery you ask? My surgeon had asthma and parasites and was in a bad place with her mood. I was trying to do a surgery on my medic (still training). Medic would move to the surgery bed. Surgeon would collect materials from the freezer and walk to the bed. Along the way she would pass out, fall asleep or have a mental break, or one time the medic got up to do another chore right before surgeon finally got there. After going through the preparation process for days, the medic caught a stray hit from something and died of that. The surgery never happened. My only regret is that she didn't die from the issue I was trying to fix.

They are hilarious as ranchers and combat animal trainers, if you are into that sort of thing. At first glance, they also make good melee fighters, but their healing factor is basically a deal-breaker for me. Melee is guaranteed damage taken, unless you sport bionics and tons of armour - so before that, you will have a melee combatant that spends most of the time healing. They do work as a decent substitute for neanderthals in transhumanist colonies, though - biosculpter medic cycle takes care of the slow healing problems quite well.

Ganies, I feel are best for the early game advantage - you get good crafter and scientist right off the box and they work well as homestead mechanitor as well, for bases that have other pawns in it - that is a xenotype that needs to avoid combat, so penalties from mechanitor armour don't matter, use this guy purely as a a controller. The problem is - Genie does not bring much to the table in a long run. A normal crafter witll eventually and in fact, quite quickly catch up, and at this stage you are just left with a pawn with many debuffs with little to show for it.

Late game, when neutroamine isn't a problem, they make for fine universal soldiers, but on the flip side, at this stage you will probably have good trained soldiers anyway, and beyond the ability to pop go-juice whenever they want with no risk, they do not bring that much to the table. They won't survive a shootout much more than regular pawn, they will just heal faster afterwards, and neanderthal is superior in melee, without need for drugs. So I'd say the biggest advantage of a Hussar is their value in early game - if you can secure their addiction, you basically get a guaranteed good fighter right off the box.

Assuming you can live with their slow... so slow learning factor, they make for absolutely fantastic melee combatants. With exception of speed, they have all the right assets. One with nible and tough traits is a literal walking tank - slap some decent armour, bionics, shield belt and zeushammer - and you have an unstoppable melee smasher or immovable roadblock of a pawn. As for next DLC - I would not mind something enhancing caravans and transportation, or maybe expanding on low tech stuff and slightly on high tech stuff. In current versions of the game, it is kind of ridiculous - I can make a high tech spacer colony making its own genetic research and producing deadly, mind controlled robots, but travel to the next town still requires a horse with canvas bags - not even a cart. Same with early game - I feel like in current setup, neolithic and medieval stage melee and ranged weapons are largely redundant - even tribal colonies can get a steady supply of firearms and maybe even flak gear fairly quickly, making a good old bows and arrows a meme. Similarly, the very late game - while mid-game equipment seems to be very well covered when it comes to gear variety, late game basically only has marine and cataphract armour, and two charged weapons - both of which are comparatively short ranged. Some expansion on both fronts would be nice - I mean, sure, a lot of it is already covered by mods, but again, so were the various races before biotech, so there is that.

Best mod is Pick Up and Haul. It’s OP early game but let’s be honest hauling is boring as hell. Also it scales well into late game as you accumulate thousands of stacks of items in multiple warehouses across your entire base.

Here's one for surgery. I play with psycasters expanded. I have a pawn who is a necromancer, and another pawn who went down the protector tree. We have a mechanitor who needs subcores. We got a prisoner, Pop, who made the very bad decision to attack my base. We captured Pop and decided to push the boundaries of ethics right off a cliff. My necromancer puts a death shield on Pop to keep her from dying for 24 hours. Then she goes into the rip scanner to get her brain microwaved to steaming hot mush. She does not die. Instead she goes to the operating table where we remove all of her organs. Then my protector pawn shows up with the "regrow limbs" power. That power can regrow organs and brains. It may take a few days, but Pop will be good as new. Then she would do it again and again and again. However, she had a psychite dependency and died from it. I decided that before she died, she'd go into the ripscanner one last time. With that final core, I turned her into a War Queen. Now she protects all of us from harm, and captures more prisoners to fill her now vacant jail cell.

I had a half human half machine Hussar... Like being hussar wasn't enough for me, he was very quiet and was married to a Highmate so she kept him in happy chains. The chef, for some reason, decided to directly insult him repeatedly as soon as he entered the room. Social Fight notification Death of the Chef notification Bro kinda asked for that man

I have a huge waster colony rn, vanilla expanded adds a race of girls that have different features based on your DLC, can't recall their names but the pollution focused on can live with wasters and cover their weaknesses while being immune to pollution Royalty has nose and torso implants to fix the ugly, a bunch of wasters together will see each other as ugly and early game, fights are the only metal break I get. I always ignore them due to the drug requirements but after running a colony with then, it's actually not that hard to keep them alive

wasters are basically weaponized crackheads. Think about it. -gaunt, ugly faces and sickly skin colors -dgaf about pollution -high pain tolerance -violent tendencies -will steal anything not bolted to the floor to fund their drug dependencies, and will maul anyone who gets in their way

I want the next DLC to be different factions interacting with each other, ie a faction at was once friendly with each other may become hostile eventually and if their trade caravans meet on your map they’ll fight
