One very important inaccuracy in the video: flaming cliffs aircraft are not just the same but without clickable cockpits and worse graphics. They're far, far more simplified simulations. Most of the systems on those modules aren't even simulated, only a small subset of things can be used (a couple of radar modes, some weapons, and not much else), and even the usable systems are still way simpler than the full fidelity counterparts (compare the F-15E radar with the F-15C radar: ages apart). If you only fly "air quake" pvp you might not notice the difference. But for anyone flying realistic missions and trying to do realistic procedures and operations? Nowhere near.

But not everyone has the money to invest in peripherals and the numerous amounts of modules available. The idea is anyone can play and enjoy the game with the absolute minimal amount of money and STILL ENJOY themselves. A little late to the party, but something that might help people who find this video: One of the F-45's greatest strengths in BVR engagements is the EOTS. Not only does it make it very easy to spot targets against the sky at extreme distance, it can provide guidance to the AIM-120D up until it's terminal phase when it switches to AHR. An EOTS track is real time, provides BRAH information to your TSD, and is completely unnoticeable to your target. Visual lock cannot be jammed, and isn't vulnerable to countermeasures or evasive tactics like notching. Assuming that they don't see the smoke trail from the missile's engine, and the MWS doesn't detect a launch, the target will have no way of knowing that you have shot at it until the missile switches to it's internal radar for guidance and shows up on RWR. It's a very handy trick that woefully few people use. Gotta leverage all the tools at your disposal!

That is a good trick to know!

Are you sure that you can "trial" campaigns? I have never seen that option. In fact, there are many other modules that can't currently be used in trial. Edit: I now see you addressed this in the comments. Decent video, but a large part of it was based off all the time you get to play with free trials, which happens to be only a fraction of what was stated. Not trying to be over critical, but wanted to make that point.
@cerberus03516 күн бұрын
You still get a significant amount of content on trials. Which can still feed you quite a bit of playtime. The sentiment of the video is unaffected by the discrepancy made. DCS is still NOT expensive. Over half the video was about buying flaming cliffs and flight sim gear for a grand total of $80 and how to use head tracking for free.
@cerberus03516 күн бұрын
Small correction to this video. You CAN NOT trial campaigns. Big thank you to @cthomas2033 for pointing this out. My launcher showed me campaigns when I went to the "try n buy" section and made it look like they were included in the trial! Everything else holds true, sorry for the misinformation about campaigns!

notable stuff about firing fox 3s in the f45 you do NOT need radar lock to be able to fire fox 3s in the f45 and ef24, you only need enemy rwr pings so they show up on TSD. once the missile is close enough its radar will activate and surprise the enemy while keeping you stealthy if you're firing from the tsd and you want your radar ON turn on "point" in the menu in the corner of the TSD page as it auto radar locks your selected target its usually only good to fire AA missiles just below the engine cutoff line (or whatever you call it) on the launch ladder so the enemy cant just fly cold (away from the missile to out range it) to defeat the missile

I dig your BMS walk-through! Most people post multiplayer sorties or single mission videos...which can be fun... but its much better IMO to watch one person strategize and put a plan into motion. And beginners can learn from your mistakes so they wont have to make them hehe! I noticed here and in prior videos that your glideslope is way too low. Keep the FPM on localizer centerline using yaw/roll but always maintain glideslope with throttle- never pitch input. Pitch input is used to establish the approach and once its set its mostly just throttle work. 7 degrees nose up then flare to about 12. Rule of 1/3 with GS. At 3nm be at 3K ft. At 1nm you wanna be no higher than 350ft and no lower than 300. Give or take a little depending on wx etc.

Hey man I heard u wanted to increase your FOV and I figured out how to do so, first you go into and Open, \Falcon BMS 4.37.6 (whatever current update is)\User\Config\Falcon BMS.cfg` in Notepad.. Look for `set g_fDefaultFOV` and `set g_fMaximumFOV` lines Ensure maximum > default. You could also look in the Falcon BMS 4.37.6 (whatever current update is) folder and you will find a orange app called config, from there there will be a drop down box called general and then FOV and set your maximum FOV to your desired FOV. Hope I could help if you encounter any issues I’ll look into it 😊 thanks for the BMS content man

As far as I’m aware there isn’t a calibration option in showdown. I’ve been playing exfilzone and haven’t found it there. What I do is run with virtual stock turned on and it works for 75% of the situations I’m in. This is something I wish we had in showdown. Calibration has its flaws though the moment you add on a grip everything gets misaligned again.

You probably figured it out, but the reason the laser didn't fire wasn't because you weren't in point track. The laser was set to training mode. When you go to the LASR-page on the UFC (where you checked the laser code and auto laser timer) you can see it's set to "TRNG" or some such. If you hit the down arrow under the number keys below the HUD, you'll select laser mode. If you then hit 0, you change from training to combat mode. Ater that the laser will fire, as long as it's also armed. Also, the SA-2 at 95% you were worried about didn't have the Fan Song radar. Probably been destroyed by another SEAD/DEAD flight. Without that, it can't shoot :)

Cool vid. I would love to see some coverage on the maximum envelope of missile usage. In the sense that the agm can be lofted 10 miles when the target is near your altitude and you almost always will hit, but the accuracy indicator will show you are well outside the threshhold. At 30k feet ive landed 25m shots using gps-a target coords easily despite it being 6 miles outside reliable day time tgp seeking. Ive seen 40 and 50m shots before as well, these rank more like parlor tricks as it requires 45k+ feet alt and airspeed greater than 400kts to really stick the landing. The fuel spent, and reliance on tgp'd gps-a coord strike limit you to soft targets due to aaa just easily picking them off unless their angle is too steep.
