I've tested 5 different ferro rods and have found the GobSpark is the MacDaddy. Aside from all that this video demoed (which I agree 100% with), the one aspect of the GobSpark that I feel sets it apart from the rest is the composition of the ferro rod itself. When you strike the rod the ignited embers stay lit longer than other ferro rods thereby igniting your tinder bundle sooner/easier/faster. I know 5 rods being tested is a drop in the bucket from what is out there but I feel I have a range that represents what's out there. The rod itself is a bit softer allowing more material to be shaved off and ignited. Others smarter than me can speak to its comp but I'm sold with the Gob Spark. Wanted to throw my two cents in when I arrived at my findings.

Awesome video Sir. I received this Gladys machete from my brother N Law and his sons for Christmas about 6years ago. It’s most definitely my fav blade. The condor case is the best. The plastic sleeves on all cases wear out and chip. The one in the condor is removable and you can always buy a sleeve to put in that roomy case. Also many pencil slots and Large pockets. The sleeve on the esee and helikon Tex is part of the case so when it goes the case is almost useless. I like the nav cards and their knives though. The condor costs less too
