I remember driving across Iowa, at night, from the Illinois 88 to Kansas City (ish), South of Iowa City, or somewhere by Des Moines. .357 Magnums ( the Old caffeinated meth anyone could buy), beers and a shitty chilly dog, from a machine or 7-11 and weed. For years. Ahhh the 1970’s and early 80’s.

How come some uploads block comments but others of yours (this one) allows them. More importantly, since I don't understand, Why does the "reply" button sometimes has a name shown and others do not. Might it be the 'notification' option in the user profile? That is why the reply wasn't the standard reply in: kzbin.info/www/bejne/goO5lpqkj71ni5I

Wow , what an excellent speech . Can't imagine the horror these people and soldiers went through. The red cross fiirst responders must still have nightmares. God bless our world . Imperfect as it is , I pray a tragedy like this never happens again. Thank you sir for your service , and heroic efforts to help those people in France .

I liked your idea of filming on a remote road with Manfred Mann so much Rick that I made my own version. I found a level and perfectly straight stretch of road across the Nullabor Plain in Western Australia so I set my video camera on the dash board, put on "Stranded In Iowa" on the CD player and started filming. I haven't uploaded it because I felt that it would be plagiarism. Well, as they say, imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

much thanks for the kind words mrgoblin60. I was a travelling Sales rep, then. and often had my dash-cam mounted, in case I witnessed something extraordinary.

all navigational obstacles were overcome easily in a kayak due to its low draft characteristics. only had to exit craft 4-5 times to get unstuck from sand bars

Funny thing is the water is considerably higher a year ago than it is right now because they had to drain it way down in June '13 to finish the boat ramps and do some grading.

Lucas, A canoe might work on Duck Creek, if there is enough water flow. I had to exit my kayak 5 times [stuck] along this route, on the day I chose. In any water level, I do recommend a PFD be worn. There are multiple trees down, in the creeks path, and they can be dangerous snags, esp in higher waters. If you are an experienced canoe-er, then sure, give it a try. If you are UN-experienced, then canoe on a lake, till you build your skills.
