Dont consider L9 now, it has dozens of issues, use these topics in google search and you will fiind all the issues, even Notebookcheck has already 2 faulty L9s. Google it: "Lenovo-Legion-9-16IRX9-Legion-9i-review-How-high-end-is-the-RTX-4090-gamer" There are countless threads about the problems with the Legion 9i. Lenovo has been completely silent for months. People, including myself, have reported buying or replacing new Legion 9i dozens of times. The problems persist. Lenovo's departments cant decide who is responsible for those issues, and blaming each other back and forth. Raw product, that costs 4-5k bucks and is well known as flagship from the lenovo's side and reviewers, which didnt pay any money for it, sure they show only the positive sides and even licking lenovo's ass to show how great their water pump is, which is completely trash, 2c difference with it, is painful to see! 1) Disabling-raid-in-Legion-9i 2) Legion-9i-inaccessible-boot-device-error-after-setting-Hyper-V-in-windows-11 3) Disabling-raid-in-Legion-9i 4) Legion-9i-Crackling-audio-through-headset-only-in-Legion-Performance-Mode 5) Legion-9i-repair-came-back-worse-than-it-was-before 6) tutter-in-Performance-Mode-on-Legion-9i-RTX-4090 7) Lenovo-Legion-9-GEN-8-9-13980HX-14900HX-4090-VMD-Issues-High-DPC-Latency-Audio-Crackling(my post) 8) stutters_on_legion_9i(sure reddit isnt the best source, but still)

I still don't think Oled is a good idea for long-term use of Laptops OR Deasktops due to the high likelihood of Burn in within a few years or less

The skin is real forged carbon fiber, helps with reducing some of the weight as well as being stronger than aluminum. You mostly see forged carbon fiber on exotic supercars such as Lamborghini and Ferrari.

Like the Alienware laptops from years ago, if I have to disassemble the laptop and flip the motherboard to get to it, it’s considered soldiered because they don’t intend for me to swap it out.

That’s a tough question. lol. While I like to have my display match the laptop, Lenovo doesn’t have any “appetizing” monitors. In this case I’d probably go with one of the Alienware or LG QD OLED monitors. Expensive, but if I paid this much for a laptop, I want to make sure I get the best experience if I’m not using the main display.

In my opinion, I don’t think it’s enough unless you shut down most of the background processes. I’d upgrade to 32 for cheap or just get one built with it already installed.

Nice review, Shawn. Point of correction the ram is not soldered on the motherboard. The ram is on the other side of the motherboard, just below your keyboard. I have this exact model, but mine came with RTX 4090 + i9 14900hx and 64gb of ram. I maxed everything out because you have to go through the motherboard to upgrade the ram. I Don't feel comfortable doing that. Powerful beast this is.

The screen tech on gaming laptops is improving a lot. This with the mini led and the G14 with the oled and both with high refresh rates and hdr makes a huge difference.

So I made mine do a flashing effect awhile back, and now when i go in it says that the only theme I have is just blue. I click that and click save and close the application and my PC starts flashing again. I know for a fact I've never had to run the app in the background to have it to the color i want it. What am i supposed to do?

@10:54 - another reviewer reports 4-5 hours Battery life for video editing, while you got 4 hours for normal light usage. Wonder if it's because of that 100% brightness screen

@8:14 BUT, what if you Do photo/video edit on such laptop?, I actually understood they have like 100% sRGB accuracy for example..This shouldn't male all the colors over saturated..this display should be color accurate...so what's going on?
