Hi Ian, Is it possible to create the this collection in multi/ploy, or multi/poly is not capable without samples?

Finally got the chance to sit down and watch this great full interview. I’m considering a multi poly for a few reasons. The key stage actually sounds like a great pair with a module which might work better for my space concerns, and I tend to use my daw with midi note editing workflows. But I tend to use vst mode for my hardware and sending the sounds to my companion hardware synth for live uses. My main curiosity with multi poly are the extent of mod possibilities with the audio rate modulation, the layer rotate, the sounds of the cross mod, and the sounds of the various filters. In short, I’ll meed to properly try one out! Also can keystage remember where a knob position last was, and go from that position. Jump vs catch options I think they’re called

38:29 I honestly don't know what kind of rack case one should get to make the module versions of these great Korg R&D synths part of my stage rig. How would the inputs/outputs etc be accessible??? Wouldn't they be up against the side of the case? and wouldn't the case have to be super shallow??? Do appropriate cases even exist???
@IanDixonTDL3 күн бұрын
The ports are round the back and are accessible when in a rack.
@stephenbertino83733 күн бұрын
@@IanDixonTDL The photos I see of these modules show the ports being on what would be the TOP when the module is mounted vertically. in a 4U rack case. That would put the ports up against the inner side of the kind of rack case I typically use.

Thank you for this video! I've been eagerly watching your content while waiting for the module to be released. It would greatly improve the clarity, especially for non-English-speaking viewers like me. Thanks again!

Great one Ian , may i suggest lower register notes for filter comparison , more material to chew and distortion will be more apparent ;) I do those templates on my iridium in fact ;) it gives a whole other direction to what i call "blank canva" type of powerfull synth , that unlike old simplier architecture , doesn't take your hand but leaves you with endless roads to choose from lol (don't know if i'm clear)

1. Great work Ian. The presets sound fantastic! The pads are lush, and the mono leads have character & will cut through a mix. Another definite purchase! :) 2. FWIW, the DW8000 and Wavestation have always been favourites of mine. Along with their cousin, the Prophet VS, they represent three of the best from the late 80s/early 90s. 3. BTW, I have never thought of using the vector control to change chords! Thanks for sharing that! 4. Two questions: (a) Is it possible to set it up so there are fade-ins & fade-outs of the chords during the transition from one vector control position to the next? (b) During the intro of the video, you overlayed oscillator-like blue wave images that responded to the music in the intro. What was your source of the blue wave images? I am wondering if I could pull that off in a live performance, with graphics like that layered with other graphics on the big screen....
@IanDixonTDL8 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment. The vector control fades controls the volume of the layer so it should do what you want. The blue waves is an effect in Camtasia studio which i use to edit the video so its a not a live effect.
