Bought a set of 6 SWAN brand OEM spec coils made in Germany from Bunnings for AU$286.00 in 2024 for those watching now. As Bosch coils aren't available anymore, those others are a great substitute.

My VZ had a problem where it was running good until up to temp and then had a bad miss and no power between 1,500 and 2,000 rpm. Also terrible fuel economy. I also had no codes showing on Torque, a bit strange. Maybe a proper reader would get more info? I bought a set of coils, plugs and plenum gaskets on ebay for $160 and a set of injectors for around $60. I got a set of NGK platinum plugs on sale at Autobarn fro $70 because plugs are such a drama to change on these engines and I don't think cheap plugs are worth the trouble. Took me about 2 1/2 hours and it now runs a dream with much more power. I thought I might as well just change everything out as it is so cheap on ebay and I didn't want to have to keep chasing problems. I kept two of the old coils which I know are good in case I have a problem with any of the ebay coils.

I really appreciate this! I've got a Holden VZ commodore 3.6L V6 Alloytec engine doing the same thing. The fact that you showed how to unclip the coil, mate, top bloke. Awesome video!

10:43 same as trying to remove that fkn sensor clip from the air intake hose, had to leave it on when changing oil pressure sensor. Couldn't for the life of me figure out how to remove it without damaging it.

ok now i know how to change oil and filters. next tutorial is how to put a turbo in it 😂. thanks mate, this is the most useful tutorial. just one question, do i really need the oil flush fluid?

thanks mate. the engine flush is not a requirement, just a recommendation. there are people who swear by doing a flush every oil change and others who are like meh whatever. take your oil cap off, run your finger around the inside top of the rocker cover and if you get lots of gunk on your finger, then a flush would be highly recommended.

very helpful, mine was cylinder5 , obd scanner said misfire cylinder5, started engine, disconnected coil 5, no change in rough idling, num 5 coil can be removed without inlet manifold removal, i put a spark plug in the coil, reconnected coil power plug earthed spark plug to manifold, restarted engine, no spark from plug, new coil from repco, all fixed. thanks again

I love these braindead dudes that replace 6 plugs and 6 coil packs because they are so stupid and dumb to work out what is functional and what is not, perhaps 5 plugs or 5 coil packs were completely fine and got binned because the throw away society has lost all concept of process elimination and diagnostics. Why not just bin the whole god damn engine or the car for that matter once it needs an oil change or fuel top up. Really do we need stupid videos like this? Work out what is dead and bin it, just the offending item rather than it along with serviceable parts, deep down you all know I am right! But then again, I am from another generation you don't remember or respect.

@@thomastommygun8487 if you go in there expecting a monster jam show, you will be disappointed. This is not monster jam, they are not trying to be monster jam. Also this is an arena show, not a stadium, so that's big difference as well. Qudos is Australia's biggest indoor arena, yet it's still smaller than a lot of the arenas in the US. Temper the expectations a bit, and I'm sure you and your son will enjoy the show. These guys work their butts off to put on these shows and to put on the best one possible within the limitations of the arena, the limited supply of parts & labour (something monster jam doesn't deal with). Gie them a chance, you may be plesantly surprised. I know its impossible to please 100% of people 100% of the time, you only need to look at the comments on prior monster jam australian shows or on facebook to see that, they get complained against big time as well!! Cheers

You may regret not checking the condition of the plugs. In fact you would have been better off replacing the full set of coils and plugs. If the car has over 170k kms perhaps doing the rocker cover gaskets and cam actuator seals wouldn't be a bad idea .

On the black plastic covers, there are no nuts holding it down, it just "pops" on and off, if you have never taken them off before, they may be a bit stiff and require what seems like more than necessary force to pull them off the studs, but they should just come straight off

I noticed mine sort of misses under 3/4 acceleration between 2200-4000rpm But idling it doesn't miss. Just when it's under load.

number 6 coil was fryed ichanged it still has a misfire put diagnostic tool on it cam up with earth fault on 246 injectors

Nice work Damo. Been awhile since you last posted a video. Missed a great show by the looks of it. They put on an awesome show in Wauchope a few days earlier. Thanks Ant, yea been a while, but hopefully will be posting up some more stuff, including older footage from old shows i've never got around to posting now I've got my PC sorted properly. Seen a video of the Wauchope show and saw the rolly cars and instantly thought what you blokes doing there! Didn't include any footage of the jetcar in this video as it was having some issues and couldn't get any flameage happening unfortunately. I thought the driver looked familiar, but I wasn't really sure, and I didn't see him around afterwards otherwise I woulda said hi.
