Trauma affects people in many different ways. The way is affected me was… I looked in a mirror and saw someone completely different It wasn’t me but a version of who I used to be I don’t remember that version of me anymore Anytime I try to remember it feels unreal You don’t recognize who you were after trauma happened. Now your looking at a stranger who is the same person but you can’t believe that person is still you but different. Identity is a difficult thing to live with when you’re traumatized and trying to find out who your supposed to be and can’t figure it out. I sometimes relapse and think, “is this who I’m ‘supposed’ to be or am I supposed to be the version of myself before the trauma? If you’ve gone through this I promise your not alone, I’ve gone through just like many others.
