0:22 by the way Mary Jane holland was a persona she became ADDICTED to cause she’d throw on a brown wig frumpy clothes and sneak away from her body guards and security teams and sneak away to just be herself but she started to become addicted to the freedom or the form of freedom she alluded herself to have by pretending to not be famous when she snuck away from everyone. Which leads into the song dope. She was using “dope” the word, to explain the feeling of being addicted to the weed and pain medicines that she took for the hip pain from her surgery on her hip that was damaged during the born this way ball. She was overworked and over performing and injured herself and became addicted to pain relief medicine and weed and how it made her feel. I’m rambling a bit but yeah there’s a video online from where she performed the unreleased version of the song dope at one of the last ever KZbin music video awards from 2014 before she changed it from “wanna be with u”to “need you more than dope”

Also Angel Down hits really hard when you know she wrote the song about the black lives matter movement that was happening at the time and particularly the murder of Trayvon Martin. "shots were fired on the street, by the church where we used to meet. Angel down. Angel down. Why do people just stand around?" .. "where are our leaders? I'd rather save an angel down". I'll cry every time I think too hard about it. Also the bonius tracks are really great too. Grigio Girls is about her and her friends getting together to cry and drink wine together because their friend was dying of cancer at the time (RIP Sonja) and Just Another Day is one of my favourites off the album which is just a light hearted upbeat jazzy song about choosing to be carefree

It'd be awesome if you could react to the Star Is Born movie somehow just because it's such a great movie, but listening to the music first spoils the whole story 😅 and the music is so much harder hitting in the movie

Oh you really gotta watch the full ArtPop Ball (live from Paris). I was lucky enough to attend it, as well as 4 other ArtRaves and she was INSANE! You will absolutely love her energy! ArtRave was the first time I got to see her live - I‘m a huge fan ever since Poker Face came out - and the first time I finally got to see her live, I made it to the first row and she sang Marry The Night for me and took me backstage!❤️ Absolutely magical moments, will never forget 🥹❤️

Your interpretation of the song Joanne was great! It is dedicated to her late aunt Joanne, but has a double meaning since Joanne is also Gaga herself (it's her middle name). I saw the Joanne world tour live and she spoke to the audience a lot about this song and said something like "I want you to think about a moment in your life that blasted you so hard you don't remember who you were before it happened. Like when something happens that is so difficult that it feels like a part of you died." She connected it to her father's grief changing him into different person after tragically losing his sister, but also to her own grief over losing parts of herself due to her own traumatic experiences as well. I think the double meaning makes it one of her most lyrically powerful songs.

Danny has such a powerful voice. So many times you can tell he holds it back because he has to work with the song, but you can tell he just wants to let it go. so glad he got the opportunity to do that here

the reason this album hit so hard with her fans, is because she was so open about how during the production of it, the producers she worked with played her demos, and she said in an interview of one, '' you hear me so big'' and she teared up. she grew not just as an artist, but as a person, and it mirrored the growth of her fans facing the same things. and she turned those dark themes into these powerful anthems that you could cry with, and then end up dancing with in defiance of those fears.
