Does the clear have to be Tekta or can it be plain clear?

I liked your video, thank you for sharing your experiments and results. Curious if copper oxide can be mixed with colored glass powder, then fused?

Hi, i am starting up with fusing again after a long break....going to use my oxide between 3" circles (ornaments), do I still do a bubble squeeze even tho I want the bubbles? Will a bubble hold defeat the purpose of the oxide bubbles? Thank you, Great videos!

Thanks for taking the time to do the comparison. I’m getting ready to make my first set of hearts and I’m scared. I don’t know why doing anything new scares me but….. I couldn’t find your schedule. Could you please send them to me? Thanks 🐢

Question: Once the copper oxide is mixed with a liquid (e.g., glasstac) can it be stored for future use, pre-mixed, or will it dry out or become ineffective? If you mentioned this in the video and I missed it I apologize. I'm multi--tasking. Thanks!

Are you saying copper oxide will make bubbles on uncapped single layer glass?
@susanwalpole18455 ай бұрын
I love making hearts. I used too much copper oxide making bubble hearts. So I'm going to try making a part sheet and dots. Thank you. This was very informative.

@@StephFuses I’m sure anyone who doesn’t like your videos isn’t your targeted audience. I’ve investigated other videos related to similar topics and they’re decent in my opinion. You talk a lot instead of showing process and results which is the main thing I’m here for.

Steph, Thx for this video. Have you ever tried the oxide powder in-between a layer of tekta and an opal or transparent color ? Also wonder if you laid the two layers in a diamond pattern vs two layer square if they would shrink more.
@StephFuses7 ай бұрын
I have not, but my friend Linda of @ramprateart has, and she's used white as a background. It makes the blue pop and look beautiful!
@susanhardy14437 ай бұрын
I tried it on clear and on white. Worked great and I used next to nothing from the baggie. It definitely will last a long time! Is there a way to add photos here?

What temp did you fuse to? Full fuse?
@StephFuses7 ай бұрын
I go to 1485 or thereabouts. My kiln is such a mess, it's 50 degrees too hot, takes forever to get to full fuse temp, so I officially go to 1390 on my display, which is 1440, because it'll take 4 hours to go between 1225 and 1390, even at 400-600 per hour. In my small kiln though, it's 1485, which is more of a proper fuse.

Wow…. Your math is awesome! Have you ever used copper sulfate? I would like the hearts to be fatter. Would I just add more clear glass on top of it? I also I would like to run a wire through it so I can make little suncatchers with the hearts. BIG THANKS to you for sharing. 👍👍🐢
@StephFuses7 ай бұрын
I've never used copper sulfate, but I can look into it. As to fatter hearts, pile on the clear! I make nnice fat hearts all the time. You can run a wire through, I recommend looking for nichrome wire, or high temp wire on Amazon and picking it up in a roll, not in the little hooks. It'll take some trial and error to get it right, but I'm sure you'll get it!
