Comment from the UK. Coins to watch out for: Very early decimal proofs are marked as 'x New Pence' or 'One New Penny' This changed to 'x pence'. coins narked 2 new pence are collectibles. One new penny coins in good condition can be worth tens of thousands of pounds (sterling) There are some 2 new pence coins that are struck in nickle alloy rather than copper. These are also VERY valuable as they were never intended to be released into the wild. The box of pennies needs to be examined closely. Victorian and early 1900 (Georgian) pennies can be worth tens of thousands and if you find a 1933 penny be ready for a £100's of thousands payday. Also of interest are halfpenny pieces, threepenny, half crown, sixpennies, florrins and farthings (1/4 penny). I would recommend a visit to a numismatist with experience of British coins.
