I've always considered a Border wall hike from Campo to Tucson- Well Nogales then North. You would be the first to make the trek* Tbh a bit dangerous but what a journey.. I live in Yuma and have considered hiking el camino del diablo Sirra Vista To Yuma a common Bike pack route.. but a hike through that would be a first.

Thanks for the video. I’m really getting interested in the AZT lately, so appreciate these videos. I really like what you’ve done with putting both temps on the screen. Very cool. Peace and happy trails to ya. And good luck on that hike this year.

Sara! Great to see you on KZbin! I recently viewed your SOBO on the AT and a few updates since. 7K miles! Wow! I'll start watching to see how it goes. Between you and Captain Jack (He's doing a "yo-yo"), you've got me motivated to do a SOBO starting in June. Planning and training continues. Wishing you great success, happiness during this next adventure!

Hi Sara, I just subscribed. That's quite an adventure you have planned. I hiked the PCT in 2018. I was laid off work Nov. 2017 and half-heartedly looked for a job before my start. I'll be retiring soon and plan on hiking the CDT this year. I hope to start the trail nobo May 4, maybe we'll see each other.

So huge! I hope you get some rain down there. We did a short loop of the azt-get-skit in December. We found a lot of dry springs in the mountains. The BLM ranger claimed there was no water flowing between klondyke and the Gila river. Lots of cows out though.

Nobody cares, the hiking community has become an incessant display of one-upmanship. Tons of people can hike 5,000+ miles in a year. It’s nothing special.
@Carsons-Adventures12 күн бұрын
You know what's less special? Making rude comments and bringing people down... you could simply just... stop watching the video... click away... spend your time doing something productive
@jhayft070311 күн бұрын
If you don’t care just scroll away and go watch something else instead of bringing someone else down. She apparently is excited about it!!! Don’t bring down other peoples ambition and dreams and goals for your own sake! Go somewhere else and watch something else. Geez.

I wonder if since your main goal seems to be to hike the CDT and PCT together, if maybe you couldn't simplify it just a little bit and just start at the Southern Terminus of the CDT and finish at the Southern Terminus of the PCT. That would still be a lot of miles for one year, but would eliminate some of the back tracking you would have to do. Anyway good luck with your plans. 😎👍
@sarawalksalot12 күн бұрын
For sure! My main inspiration was to start/end at my front door though. :D I did look at potentially heading south and making my own route directly to the CDT terminus, which would require a lot of paved road walking.
@MaxZomboni12 күн бұрын
@@sarawalksalot If you haven't already I think you should go on Postholer and make a good trip plan for the CDT and PCT sections. Then make you own hike plan for the connecting trails. Keeping a good schedule I think will be crucial so you don't run out of time to get though the Sierras. 👍

@mountaincat813 күн бұрын
I have a suggestion. When you arrive at the Northern Terminus of the CDT, do an assessment of how much time you have left in the year. If you are short on time, you may want to catch a ride over to the Northern Terminus of the PCT and immediately start hiking South in order to complete the Sierras by October 1, 2025 when the chances for Sierra Snow begin to increase. In other words, the goal is to complete the Sierras during your SOBO PCT hike before snow season begins. Anyway, you don't need to decide this now, you can decide this later. I am so excited for you and I can't wait to follow your progress on the trail. Whoooohoooo !!!!

Sleep with your gas can and your water filter and they'll work when you need them to. I did the trail in the spring and only did that a couple days. Great hiking though.
