Glad you like it. I think we all struggle with algae. Sadly that’s part of indoor gardening. But hey no bad weather ever! ❤️

Sweet pea plants are menaces, they can and will attempt to strangle anything that's nearby if you don't keep it pruned, or at least wrap their wines back on themselves every 3 days or so. Even with regular pruning they will usually bloom, but my own plant bloomed early due to the heat so when I trimmed it back the flowers have yet to grow back, if they even will this season. More than likely, the best thing to do is just trim it away from your petunas and other flowers by removing the grabbing vines and simply moving them away, perhaps even giving them a place to focus on wrapping.

I have pushed them up into themselves a lot! But thank you for your insight. Never free them before. Appreciate your comment. I think I will be removing them sadly.

Thank u for the video. It's impressive... Can you elaborate on this technique... I'm in the western states in Utah, and I have about 1-2 weeks left of warmth. I want to transplant for the winter. I need to know what space to put them inside my home. I have a bay window thats the best sunlight for them. THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. I hate to see them go.

This is in an aerogarden. Any hydroponics unit could work. Rinse the roots of all dirt if you go that route. Or spray them for bugs outside and just bring your pots in. They should last a while. Check out this video of how I have them now. May be helpful! kzbin.infogjUleF_ytuI?si=pvlR1-ueXoQMiEnr

They are reflective covers. You can get them on amazon. Here is a set with the net baskets too. amzn.to/3XZ2RNU (affiliate link 😉) they help keep water from splashing, algae off the growing sponge, and help reflect the light. I never go without them!

I bought a Katchy a year ago and it worked GREAT! So I bought another one 2 months ago and it is TERRIBLE! It works differently than the first in that the settings are different. The old is constantly catching bugs and the new one has berely caught any. Katchy has changed the design and it does not work as well.

If you want to be really safe then yes only use food grade plastics. If flowers then both these options can work well. Mr Staky is “Made of Food Safe Polypropylene”. I’m guessing dollar store - not so much. And thanks for the amazing compliment!

After having gardyns for a few year I’m really excited to get an iharvest. Their water reservoir is almost 3 times larger meaning less frequent refills and where you pour water into the unit also looks larger and easier to pour gallons of water into.
@GrowYourHomesteadWithAngie
@GrowYourHomesteadWithAngie 16 күн бұрын
Honestly the two don’t compare. Yes the tank is way larger. But fyi once plants grow crazy huge you will fill a bit more. My HUGE kale is about once a week :) but still way less the Gardyn. The refill hole is invaluable. You can see inside to your pump. You can grab roots from the filter basket and pull, you can stir nutrients, and the way this system runs with being totally up to you with water pump and light timers is great. You are going to love it 💕

I had such a hard time finding it after a while. So disappointed. I switched to diatomaceous earth and used that for quite some time. After adding a lot of the bug zappers that helped. This last year I haven’t had one issue nothing worked at well as eco garden :(

Honest opinion of WF360 after 3 years. Do you still love it or would you recommend something else?
@GrowYourHomesteadWithAngie
@GrowYourHomesteadWithAngie 22 күн бұрын
We still use it everyday. It sits in our mudroom. The scraps that don’t go to the chickens go to the worms. If worms multiply too much we toss them in our outdoor compost. I don’t empty the worm castings like I should but we hope to till it into the gardens next spring. The WF is a way of life for us now. I still highly recommend them! Hope that helps!

@GrowYourHomesteadWithAngie
@GrowYourHomesteadWithAngie 29 күн бұрын
Joe Rogan never says "free" as in it doesn't cost money. he says it's "ethically" free. For those that are vegan and think eating an egg is eating a chicken. unless you have a rooster, it's just an egg. Making it ethically okay for everyone to eat eggs :) And I do have a clue what feed costs as I buy it all the time. Thanks for watching and commenting.

You know free range means they have 2 ft squared
@GrowYourHomesteadWithAngie
@GrowYourHomesteadWithAngie Ай бұрын
Free-range means that “chickens are raised in stationary barns and have access to an outdoor space.” 2 ft squared maybe what the big industrial farms do or their standard practice but that’s NOT enough. Pasture raised means they range all day and come and go as they chose. Many homesteads with chickens give them much more area. Either pasture raised or free range with MORE then 2 ft :)

Using some free repurposed wood pallets for the chicken coop and run, you only need to buy the chicken wire. But yes, feed costs money and sometimes you'll need to take them to the vet. Also time investment to build the coop and maintaining their coop and run.

If you don't have chickens, would this be something you would consider? And if you do have them, why?
@ErnieHatmaker
@ErnieHatmaker 29 күн бұрын
Our family has chickens because they're good at uncovering mice nests and scratching through weeds. They wander everywhere though, so we don't even bother collecting their eggs.
