I prefer as simple as possible. Too much is computerized and break down faster. My first in door growing was a light on a mechanical timer for starts. All that is just too much. They forgot the little robot that goes to the sink to get more water then cleans the machine when ready.😁

You can turn on and off the lights manually by short pressing the silver button. You can’t adjust the brightness, and if you use the button to turn on the lights, it will come on dimmed.

The app seems buggy... It's hard to beat mechanical on off times for pumps and lights if the software app is full of bugs...

LOL. Too complicated for me. I got a lot of things in my home running from my Google Assistant set up but for indoor hydro gardening, I don't want to be tied to a phone App. I like the simplicity of the iHarvest instead. However, my younger tech minded friends really like the Gardyn set up and how its run with an App. Funny, I'm 10 years older than my youngest friends and I'm like you, I like to get my hands dirty in the yard and they don't even know what a yard is without looking it up on a computer or a phone. They don't even know how to mow a lawn. LOL.

It was complicated to me too, at first, but have learned to use it. But agree a google assistant would be good for those who like the Tech. I would honestly love this more if it had a lot more manual features :) And yes, nothing like dirt under the fingernails. Even inside I love messing, fussing, and playing with the plants. I want to be hands on!
