Thank You. This sounds good to me. At 75 years old I don't want a gun fight , just use my G43 flush mag and get the IF off or away from me or us , That's the plan, I also carry a North American Arms 22Lr with 3 fed snake shot and 2 cci stingers, carry both guns at the same time. p.s. I'm not what you would call an Expert.. R.E.P. Paul H..

I just bought one. The grip is terrible. Sharp, knuckle destroying, edge atvthe backstrap and too slippery. The gune is awesome though.

I love the looks, except the lock. Im considering buying one , but on almost every KZbin vid I see a lot of comments on S&W revolver quality being poor. Wish I could find an older one for a reasonable price.

I’ve had zero issues with mine. It loves Federal 175gr Terminal Ascent. I’ve shot it out to 500 and taken several deer with it. I’ve no idea what the gas block is even on and haven’t messed with it. No reason too. I seen guys turning it like a radio dial and that might be an issue

I absolutely love my 20" SFAR. With the low recoil it is incredibly easy to stay on target through multiple shots. With cheap ammo, my bullet holes are touching at 60 yards. Definitely hitting moa at 100 yards, and sub-moa at 100 y with some better ammo. It feels a LOT lighter than a std AR10, but not really as light as an AR-15 with a 16" bbl. With a good sling, I can walk up and down steep mountains all day long for deer season, no problem. With a vertical foregrip it is very easy to take accurate shots on the fly. With a bipod on the front, it's a sweet bench rifle. That being said, I'd love to be able to swap the barrel for a 7mm-08, but that's just me

The front sight fell off on 686 plus m I ordered. It was in the box with no front sheered pin. Unless they dropped it at the store it broke somehow poor metal quality.

Love mine only shot about 80 rounds of it, only issue I had was it chambering the first round when you loaded it. Either the cheap ammo I’m using or gun still be broke in but other than that it’s a solid rifle, 100 yards it seems very accurate a persistent gonna stretch its legs out soon

I just bought a 16” .308 SFAR last week but have not shot it yet. With all of the negative reviews it made me second guess my decision but my initial impression is positive. I checked the gas block and both set screws are tight. The bolt looks good with almost zero machining marks. Hopefully the range will prove it is reliable as well. Thanks for your honest review..

I had a riflespeed gasblock put on mine when I had the barrel cut to 18" and I'm glad I did. Easy tooless adjustment that let's me dial in the gas quickly to shoot nicer .308 match or hunting loads or M80 ball. Also put a surefire brake on mine so I can run a warden blast deflector at the range, but if I get a suppressor, it'll either be surefire or plan b compatible, in which case that riflespeed gas block will be even better. Ruger really slipped up putting their gasblock on there. Their failure to manage gas (why are there pressure relief holes through the chamber and why is the bolt carrier swiss cheese? POF didn't need those bandaids) is what's leading to a lot of the reliability issues. Just putting a gas block with more options for adjustment puts a lot of potential back on the table.

My brand new one is back at the factory. Couldn’t zero at 10 yards. Great groups, but even at full adjustment still 4 inches left. Turns out the barrel is over clocked (canted). Hopefully after 172 years, Smith can do the barrel correctly THE SECOND TIME! 🤬

My 'console gun' is a CZ P10F with 19/21+1 capacity. I've recently begun 'backing it up' with my G43. In my job, having a firearm on my person at work isn't happening. But when I need to make stops on the way home after work, the little G43 is in my pocket. With an inexpensive Pearce +1 floorplate, I have 7+1 capacity.

The 716i doesn't have a brake on it, just a hider. That's likely the reason for the increased recoil impulse. Good review.

G43 is perfect in almost all cases, when do you genuinely find yourself in need of more than 6+1? 8+1 with the same length as stock pinky extender with Magguts. Some grips, sights, and a Magguts +2 turns it into the perfect slim EDC, that will always be reliable and consistent. The extra weight of a double stack and extra thought of having to carry it every single day isnt worth the 2-3 more rds.

My 16” SFAR is the finest shooting gun I’ve ever shot… Fine, fine piece of equipment! Ruger knocked it out of the park. All the power of .308 with the recoil of a bolt .223… Full mag in under 30 seconds at 20 yards, just getting on paper… 2”x4” oval all 20 on it. In 30 seconds.
