I'm happy I found this. Most of KZbin's car organizing video tips are just ads for Amazon and actually not tips.

I went down that path of hiring professional organizers. Yep, A LOT of money & time to try and organize ALL that inventory. Bottom line, it’s just too much stuff. Less stuff is the only way to truly get “organized.” Then, you’ll have time to live your life & not spend every free moment moving your stuff around.

Thank you for sharing this. Our stuff can become a complication instead of an asset. It sounds like you're in a good place with it now. Well done!

You have no idea how much this has already helped me. We have a bizarre setup in our closet. You walk in about 3-4’ and turn right under the stairs. The ceiling slopes to a cubby door on the shorter wall that then opens and drops down to an unfinished bare area under the lower part of the stairs. I’m using some of these ideas because it’s hard to access that cubby and I currently keep Christmas things under there but it’s painful to get to. I like the wall grid idea for some spots as well as the shelving.

This was one of the most helpful videos I’ve seen On decluttering, and the first to talk about a life situation causing heavy energy first - that’s so accurate, I never thought of that! Thank you for the insights

Excellent. I feel so buried in my clutter problem. I moved 3 years ago and I've never really unpacked a lot of stuff. Plus I have OCD so it makes it hard to touch a lot of things.

in our large understairs closet, the rod was cutting off access to the back of the closet. My husband turned the rod to run along one side wall like the 3rd example, with wire shelves above. Now we have more capacity for hanging and access to the back where we are going to install shelves for surplus pantry items

Thank you for your kind way of helping me speak more productive words to be kind to myself after what I’ve been through. You are helping me acknowledge that this is all part of the journey and I can be kind to myself and raise my energy with my thoughts to help me turn this space back into a beautiful and nurturing home for my own sake and my family’s. Thank you for your gentle delivery. I appreciate you and your advice. -Anne

The hours don’t interfere with being home with your kids during the day?
@theconsciousorganizer
@theconsciousorganizer Жыл бұрын
You definitely need to wait until your kids are in school or have access to friends or family that could provide the occasional support, but yes, most jobs begin around 9:00 and end around 4:00 and you probably won't be working every day. Every pro organizer is different, and depending on the type of jobs they take the hours will vary. But, a pro is usually willing to make schedule accommodations when they can for an assistant because they understand the need to be available for kids and they want to keep a quality team member. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for this idea! I will be nomadic in May, living in my car and tiny teardrop camper. I was specifically looking for a plan to organize my car console. This video started me thinking. Along with your video on the 10-step organizing process and the WFH desk (my car's front passenger side floor), I am now looking at all the available spaces in my car with a new mindset. 🙂

Very helpful . I am dealing with under stairs storage . you make it sound doable! can you suggest where i can find the adjustable shelving easily . Is there a specific source or is it generic to most stores.?
@theconsciousorganizer
@theconsciousorganizer 2 жыл бұрын
All the wall-mounted shelving shown is Elfa from The Container Store. It is my go-to product. But if you don't live close to a Container Store or you have a smaller budget you can use Closetmaid from Lowe's and Home Depot. Just make sure you purchase the track system for mounting so they will be adjustable. Thanks for watching!

I have a closet that is like stairs to the back of the closet. The steps are 16 inches high each they are four stairs going back. I have been trying to find a way to be able to use the whole closet but right now I can only access the bottom 2 steps. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thank you 😊

How can you focus on different (positive) things when all you constantly see is a mess around you? That doesn't work ...
@theconsciousorganizer
@theconsciousorganizer 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, John, for the great question. I'm not a therapist so please consider this response just my personal perspective. What I have found is that when I'm having a negative response to someone else's actions it always has something to do with me. When I feel like the house is out of control or my messy person is not hearing my requests to keep things tidy I feel disrespected and not appreciated. It's a sure sign that I'm not appreciating myself - like attracts like. For me, this is the turnaround. When I look at the mess and feel the frustration I use it as a signal to stop and do some self-care. Some self-love affirmations, mirror exercises, etc. You may also have the feeling of helplessness or being trapped. You will always attract from your partner what you are sending out - no exceptions. But, you always have the power to change the situation by changing your vibration. Once I'm in a better place I have less of a visceral response to the mess. I'm more open to hearing from Source any potential actions to take or words to speak. The whole point is you've got to take care of what's happening inside of you first. It would be impossible to not notice the mess, but it is possible to look at the mess and feel better than you do now. It takes intent and practice. Also, know that Source is listening to your desire for order and is able to work out the situation. Your job is keeping your mood up so you can receive. Source will take care of the how. Hang in there!
