Hey guys! One of these examples involves Christmas tree storage. Hope you find some inspiration!

You have no idea how much this has already helped me. We have a bizarre setup in our closet. You walk in about 3-4’ and turn right under the stairs. The ceiling slopes to a cubby door on the shorter wall that then opens and drops down to an unfinished bare area under the lower part of the stairs. I’m using some of these ideas because it’s hard to access that cubby and I currently keep Christmas things under there but it’s painful to get to. I like the wall grid idea for some spots as well as the shelving.

These are the best examples of under the stair closets in older homes. We have one in my daughter’s bedroom. Such a challenge. Thank you.

in our large understairs closet, the rod was cutting off access to the back of the closet. My husband turned the rod to run along one side wall like the 3rd example, with wire shelves above. Now we have more capacity for hanging and access to the back where we are going to install shelves for surplus pantry items

That's great! Moving the rod makes such a difference.🙂

Very helpful . I am dealing with under stairs storage . you make it sound doable! can you suggest where i can find the adjustable shelving easily . Is there a specific source or is it generic to most stores.?
@theconsciousorganizer2 жыл бұрын
All the wall-mounted shelving shown is Elfa from The Container Store. It is my go-to product. But if you don't live close to a Container Store or you have a smaller budget you can use Closetmaid from Lowe's and Home Depot. Just make sure you purchase the track system for mounting so they will be adjustable. Thanks for watching!

Yesss I have a space like the 3rd example I want to make into a clothes closet. I have no idea how to make it pretty.
@theconsciousorganizer3 жыл бұрын
Jessa, thanks for watching! Since it's a small space I would keep it really simple. There will already be a lot of colors and textures in the closet because of the clothes and shoes, etc. What will make the most visual impact is if all the components match in color and style. Meaning your structure (shelving, drawers, or hooks) should be the same color, your containers all the same, and believe it or not, matching hangers make a huge impact. You could paint the closet a different color from the room or try some wallpaper, but, again keep it really simple. You might even try changing out the light fixture to something special. Just make sure that if it hangs down you will still be able to access things from the top shelf. Good luck! Sounds like a fun project 😀

I have a closet that is like stairs to the back of the closet. The steps are 16 inches high each they are four stairs going back. I have been trying to find a way to be able to use the whole closet but right now I can only access the bottom 2 steps. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thank you 😊

Where did you get the shelves ?
@theconsciousorganizer3 жыл бұрын
In all three spaces, I used Elfa shelving from The Container Store. I highly recommend it for its versatility and strength. It's my go-to shelving product when I need a wall-mounted solution.
