Hej. I really like this style of bushcrafting the most. Can wait to be back in Sweden. I was wandering what kind of vest do you wear? Looks like a waxed canvas isn’t it ?

@wituikbws oh that's too bad . This summer coming I'm building a new A frame shelter . Two Parallel logs with touching roof logs pitched at a steep angle resting on a ridge pole supported by the front and back virtical logs . Going to use relatively thick logs (say 10 " or so ) for the main frame to have it last through my Heavey winters

Nice camp Nicholas. Your axes are always expertly sharpened. Makes cutting much easier. Thanks much.

Pointers: good job on fire first. Then gather big wood and pile it. Then build shelter under that pine tree you took branches from. Then build a surrounding wall around the fire to reflect the heat to you. Pine branches at bottom of tarp tent. I dont understand the logic of being wide out in the open.

It wasn't too bad aside from the morning. Wool gloves and a good jacket really make the difference

Guess I will never understand an overnight camp. Seem like a lot of work for one night. I love to winter camp but if I can’t stay for at least 2 nights it’s a wast of energy for me. But that’s just my opinion and we know opinions are like well you know the rest🙂. But nice video thanks for taking us with you. Oh forgot to mention I’m retired so getting the time to go camping is no problem. 😊

Wind is your enemy in cold weather because it carries heat away. You left gaps between the tarp and the ground for no reason.
