Lots of cry babies on here. I do this crap almost daily with no safety glasses, so what! Don't shoot metal in your face and you wont need them! Everybody wants to trade common sense and accountability for PPE. One construction site I was on in NYC, they were very concerned about hard hats. A guy came flying threw the site with a tele-handler with a a bundle of 20 foot rebar suspended with maybe a 20 foot chain hanging off the forks, WHIPPING around turns, swinging this bundle of rebar in a HUGE arc. No one said boo, I guess cuz we all had hard hats on, LOL! Why not use 2 feet of chain instead of 20? Don't need to, cuz our hard hats will save us from getting our heads knocked off. And don't dare light a cigarette, it might cause all the sparks from cutting and welding everywhere to catch on fire,LOL.

Lol, that's what my garage starts looking like toward the end of the week sometimes. Then it's time to stop and clean up. Guess they forgot the part where the chain got turned down to a smaller diameter and cut to length? The shaft they use is recycled as well, judging by the splines on the end that serve no purpose. Is there really enough market for a MANUAL lug wrench for TRUCK lug nuts??? I guess in (India?) there is, lol. My lugs go on with a cordless Milwaulkee, then finished with a 4' clicker torque wrench. Kind of bizarre to industrialized tribesman.

Jesus Christ ....even their videos are a scam.. That's not the anchor chain being made into wheel spanners..that's purchased mild steel rod. What happened to the anchor chain!!?...( Interesting the middle part of the chain isn't welded though, did not know that)

Sure - most of the rest of the hulls of these scrapped cargo ships get melted down in open-hearth furnaces to make new steel products; a lot of rebar used in concrete construction in Asia comes from recycled scrap ship hulls. And I am wondering why this anchor chain wasn't recycled by melting it down along with the rest of the ship's hull. The owner of this factory must have got the chain, and the scrapped axle shafts, dirt cheap - cheap enough that he could pay these workers the equivalent of $5 / day, and buy all the acetylene and oxygen for the cutting torches, and the SMAW welding electrodes, and still make a profit. Who knows, maybe the Government actually subsidizes this operation just because it's so inefficient that it employs ten times more workers than would be needed in any modern factory, and that's batter than having these men standing around with no employment at all.

No safety shoes, no helmets, no gloves, OPEN TOED SANDALS, no eye protection, no burn protection clothing no workers compensation, no insurance, no sick days or time off. Yup, that well illustrates the third world hell holes that value human life about as much as a fly hitting your windshield.
