Just leant that amendment on Wednesdays bill by the Tories was to kill the bill and not (as they and the media have falsely stated) to have another inquiry. First line of the amendment was to block a second reading so stopping legislation aimed to protect children! They are saying one thing and doing another, Tories do not care. Their actions should speak loud if than their words even if amplified by the British press.

Yes so that Labour couldn't hide behind it, and force starmer into initiating the independent public enquiry that the vast amount of the public want. You clearly don't understand the bigger picture. You should educate yourself on the full facts before clutching your pearls! Why do labour keep refusing a full independent public enquiry? Its nothing to do with wednesdays bill, that's irrelevant, there was absolutely no chance that bill was getting struck down after Starmer ordered all MP's - on threat of expulsion from the party if they dissented - to vote with the party, not their conscience. They could have both passed that AND initiated an independent public enquiry. It's not a zero-sum game smh Regardless of the tories intentions behind wednesdays vote. Theres no legitimate, justifiable reason to refuse a full independent public enquiry. Labour are continuing their decades-long cover-up of what's gone on because they can't accept that their multi-culti, globalhomo experiment has massively failed on many fronts

What cover up? Tories ordered multiple inquiries then ignored the recommendations for years allowing grooming gangs (mostly of white men btw) to continue. Labour are now implementing those recommendations to make the law better and help deal with the issue. Wait, what we need is yet another multi year inquiry, where no improvements can be implemented (so as to not impact the inquiry) and allow another generation of girls to be abused?

Cooper & Starmer are implementing the recommendations by the last enquiry that was setup by Teresa May and took 7 years to complete at a cost of 200 million pounds, that enquiry was finished in 2022 and the tory government did nothing with it, a new enquiry is just wasting money and time and stops anything being done. Reform oppose this bill because it targets all grooming gangs and child abusers not just the Asian group that the enquiry said is about 2% of the total amount. So reform and the tories are protecting child abusers.
