I'm planning to put the 21214 Niva engine in my Lada 2101 from 1978. It does not have electric fan for cooling. What should I do? Use a fan from 2105? Any idea?

got one too but also my gearbox is on the frame, so no sepperate support anymore for the gearbox.

I did this mod to my 2018 Niva and since then driving the car is much more comfortable compared to factory. Beyond comfort one more disadvantage of factory transfer case arrangement is that it exposes a small area of the monocoque chassis to highly focused vibrations. This causes metal fatigue in a small area which becomes prone to rust and decay development much quicker than it should. So you do this mod, and make sure to use protective coating like teroson or similar to the modified area, then you're actually in a better situation in terms of rust protection for your car.

It'll be good to check if you installed the air filter in correct orientation. There should be an arrow sign at the base of the air filter housing that points to the direction air filter's leaves should run parallel to. Yours seemed wrong orientation to me. Not the end of the world to install wrongly, but in the end it might have an effect on the air flow and dirt disposition.

Hi. My 2009 Niva lost it's power after an engine change. It drives "ok", yet accelerating from a stop on a hill is impossible without low gear. It just dies. With low gear it jumps just fine. Does anyone know what it might be? I changed everything i can think of. Changed spark plugs, all oils, belts etc. No codes from OBD scanner. Did a catalytic converter delete.

Power steering and AC? Will it even be a Lada anymore?

I have A/C in my Niva, although we don't have that many hot days in the UK it's a blessing on the days when it is hot, plus it's great to quickly demist windows, so I say as you have pretty much everything you need do it🙂.

Why not port the 2105 head and make it accept the fuel injectors? The belt 2105 engine runs a lot quieter and smoother.

Appreciate you doing these videos in english brother! 👍🏻 Quick question. In the last year my lada didn't start 3 times. Everytime it started again after i hit the starter with a hammer. No problems after that untill a few months later when it happened again. Is this normal and i should just have a hammer ready or is this a sign that i will need to replace the starter?
