Hi, thanks for the video. I am thinking of this car. Have you ever put a bicycle in it? just wondering if it's big enough to put in without taking a wheel off.

Unfortunately I have not put a bicycle in before. I therefore cannot comment on that. However many of clients did cycle and there are many accessories available both factory and non. Very often they got the tow bar and carriers. I believe there is a slightly expensive one available which has a tow bar with out towing capacity. The most expensive one carries multiple cycles and also tows. Lastly I spent 200 got a roof rack for snowboard, works really well too.

How do you precondition your battery?
@JebRevsUp
@JebRevsUp 24 күн бұрын
Volvo uses the term differently from other manufacturers. It basically means using the cabin heating to increase the cabin and battery temperature. You can use the Volvo cars app to either schedule a start time or run for 30 mins to heat the car. More on climate here kzbin.info/www/bejne/epfOnmCngbpnrK8si=16TiLnxiOVKOTZCg

I’ve been trying to find a way to see full list of directions on the Google maps app in my xc40 recharge. I can easily get it in my Google maps app in my phone but in the car I can’t find the setting to see the full directions list. Sometimes I like to see what my next few turns are ahead of time and I can’t seem to find it on my car app. Please help

Do you need to have a log in account to use google?
@JebRevsUp
@JebRevsUp 24 күн бұрын
If you have no Google account you can still use the map or Google voice assistant as long as the car still has active Google devices account active. However logging in personalizes your data and shares it across the Google shared devices.

How do you unlock the rear doors? If people are in the back, the doors automatically lock when you start to drive. When you stop, the rear doors remain locked. Is that child safety? Now people in the rear have to stick their hand out the window to lift the exterior latch to open the rear door. Very annoying. Please help
@JebRevsUp

Child safety button is on drivers side window switches. It is the last button underneath rear window switches. Thanks

You may want to get that checked at service next time you are there. Most of the time people find it hard to open not easy. The sensor in my S60 came set wrong and therefore had that problem. Service changed the position and it went away. Thanks

I have some bad news for you. The way the systems are designed there are many functions that require two keys. If you are missing the orange key, please make sure your replacement is exactly the same. Without a second key you will have trouble long term. I can completely understand the frustration of having to spend money on a car you just bought. It is worth it long term though.

Thanks for the demo! I have an 2023 C40 Recharge, and learned a few tips and tricks. Unless you like to make micro adjustments, keeping it in Auto works pretty well most the time. Changing the temp and fan speed is easy to do without going into the screen system.

8:55: I do understand that this is a demonstration, but in real life, it would be pretty dumb to stop there. Just go through into the next spot, and you won't have to reverse out. The less reversing, the less risk.

I have a Volvo XC60 Recharge with a battery range of 77 km. If I drive a 100 km long route and enter this into the sat nav, the car will make up its mind how to work with the electricity according to the route profile. I'll probably finish with an empty battery. The feature I'm looking for is how to tell the car that I'm going there and back so it has to distribute the electricity over 200 km.

In theory if you set a destination and also the return as the final destination, then I’m guessing this would cover both legs. However that’s an interesting question and I want to try that out now that you brought that up! Thanks

OMG! Just got my Volvo three days ago, 2025 CX60 mild hybrid. My head is spinning leaning all the new adaptations. I have already called the dealer for additional instructions. The manual is useless as you need to be in the car to use it and I LIKE PICTURES. I was almost in tears in frustration. The couple videos that I watched of yours have been so helpful. Believe it or not, especially the tailgate lift! I will be referencing your videos in the future! Thanks so much for your thorough easy to understand explanations! Great video! Thanks! I'm picking up an XC40 recharge next week. I haven't decided whether I will use one-pedal driving (I've only tried it on a Tesla Model Y before). My other car is an ICE XC90, so not sure how easy it would be to switch back-and-forth between a car that uses one-pedal and an ICE car that doesn't provide one-pedal driving. Question: have there been any studies on how much better (percentage-wise) mileage will be using with one-pedal on versus off? I know, mileage is highly dependent on the driver, but wondering if there's been studies on average savings with one-pedal driving. Thanks.

@JebRevsUp 24 күн бұрын
I am not aware of any specific data that I can share with you. Having driven the same route commuting I have noticed a difference. However have driven one pedal for years it more than just efficiency. It is more more fun to drive this way, for many I speak too. It is so much nicer and easier than two pedals. Now I’m used to it, I would prefer to drive this way even if it did nothing! Every one pedal driver usually says the same. Try forcing yourself to use it for two weeks and you will be hooked.

Hi, first let e say your really like your videos and thank you for all the help. Then may questions, about the key, if I don´t close the car with the key, and just go away of the car about 3m, the car should close automatic? Because I try that but it doesn´t close, there are any setting for that? About eh trunk some time when I "kick" to close I ear a sound like bip and doesn´t close. What could be?

What is the purpose of the green light icon on the dash if it’s on no matter what setting you chose? As long as you start the car, that green light will be on until you turn off the car. Should it not just turn on when the full light system is on and have it turn amber for daylight only? How does that green icon tell you which setting you’re using?

Thanks for this video Jebbie! I live in the UK and have just purchased a XC40 Recharge plugin hybrid. The center screen and terminology over here is different to the US so I hope that the info in the video applies to the Volvos over here. I have spent “hours” in my XC40 trying to figure out how to operate everything and have found your videos helpful. Unfortunately, as I said, there are major differences in the setup and operating instructions. I find that the online manual is exhausting to use and you have to keep digging to get the instruction as to how to use most functions. Thanks Again!!
