Definitely and another one I discovered recently. Switch it off before extreme cold weather. I unfortunately forgot this and turned on as soon as I got in the car. it didn’t sound very good when it started wiping all the ice of my windscreen. Hopefully don’t need new wipers!

Zicong, I am not aware of any method to change automatic braking or city safety on the Google system for users. I am guessing you previously had a Sensus equipped Volvo which had more options like the ability to choose if you wanted it early or later intervention etc.. the only things I am aware of that can be adjusted are lane keeping and steering assist. There were definitely a lot more freedom with some of these options under Sensus but probably a little safer to not have that much flexibility. Although, I'm sure that many owners may not all feel the same about that. Thanks for the writing.

@@JebRevsUp thanks Jebbie. I guess what you are saying is the same amount of safety options is equipped under Google and Sensus volvols, but just not configurable under the google system. I was just slightly worried that someone got rid of the safety features due to chip shortages and such.

Zicong that is correct. Safety is at the core of Volvo values. Even the most base model Volvo has AEB, blind spot with steering assist, rear CTA with brake intervention and about 5 other items. But exactly as you have said they can't be switched off or configured. I actually think that is a good thing but I know performance oriented drivers will be upset that you can't turn traction control off. Thank you for a great comment!

Geelia, thank you for the question. Not all the cars have this feature anymore. If your car does have it then this is where it most likely will be. Open the front passenger door. Near the hinge of the door you will see the side wall of your dashboard. Some cars have a circular rotating switch that can be turned to disable the airbag. If it not there then unfortunately you cannot turn it off. Generally there are many safety features now that cannot be switched off to prevent owners accidentally creating an unsafe situation.
