Yep, I have been going there for 40 years. I started going there when the old owners Steve and Bunny Fox were there. I liked it so much that I bought a lot between Sugar point and five mile point. I had it for 20 years, from 2000 to 2020 and then sold it. Great place and great lake! One of the top best fishing lakes in the United States in my opinion. Thanks for watching and check out some of my other videos. I have a video from when I would kayak fish right out in front of my cabin and catch walleye.

Hi Deb! It is a beautiful park, but the next one was nicer. The next day we went to a park called Governor Dodge State Park. It had a waterfall, 2 lakes and is much bigger. The video should be out soon. We also did a bike trail called the Sugar River State Trail, that video will be out soon also.I was with my wife Jackie but she doesn't want to be in the public videos. We had a great time at the brewery!

I agree with you on Pritzker being a POS, just like all the rest of the democrats! It is a shame Illinois is a blue state. All the rural counties are red except for the Cook county area where the majority of the population is. Crook county as I like to affectionately refer to it! Anyway, Yeah, Argyle lake was awesome and I know it has some super huge crappie. We were surprised by the walleye we caught and will be back when the leaves are changing color to try again! I know it is a no wake zone but just was testing my new water pump installation job for a brief stretch. I will look into the Siloam state park, thanks for the tip! Thanks for watching my video and if you like the outdoors, check out some of my other videos. Most of them are local, semi local and regional so you might be able to make it to some of the places.

Thanks for the info! I have been traveling past Trego for 40 years and I must have stopped at the visitors center and grabbed a map years ago and did not remember. I spoke with a man at the visitor center who informed me that my map was over 20 years old and they used to have water there. My map clearly said they have water. I should have got a new map before we left. As far as campsite 52.6, we did not even notice the fork let alone a campsite. We also could not find campsite 52.1 either, which we knew was coming up shortly after the landing! Oh well, maybe next time we will find it. We plan on doing the upper section next, (section 1 according to the new updated maps. Thanks for watching!

One is a Viper, 10' from Menards. Nothing fancy but very durable and fun on rivers. The other is a Pelican 10' which I like to use for camping because it can hold more gear as it has a cargo well in back. I have also modified them both for fishing and added eye bolts for carrying gear more securely! Both are pretty much entry level kayaks roughly costing around $300.

So not including your lunch break, how long did it take you to paddle from Shorewood to Channahon State Park ?? Also, obviously couldn't ID them in the video, but i'd make a very serious wager those snakes you saw were northern brown banded water snakes. Very common here. Another snake here known as a Queen snake is often mis-identified as a Cottonmouth. Neither of the two snakes common to this area area venomous.

This paddle is a little over 2 hours with no lunch break, I believe about 9 or 10 river miles. It's most fun in spring time when the water is higher. There are actually a couple stretches of nice fun rapids/riffles. Nothing difficult, just fun! Thanks for watching!

We will be there again this winter also! LOTW at Arnesons Rocky Point Resort. So far our best lures have been the swedish pimple. Any sizes work but we have the best luck on gold or chartruese. Put the minnows head on the treble hook then snip the body off with scissors. There is no bad lure choice really. Small tungsten jigs work well as do spoons. We jig with one hand but also use another set up for a dead stick. ( put a minnow on a hook with a split shot about 6" above) and lower to about one foot off the bottom. Place that pole in a pole holder, some mount on 5 gallon buckets or some sit right on the ground. Each person has 2 holes to use. ! for the dead stick and one for jigging. Sometimes we get more action on the dead sticks! I will be posting my LOTWs video to you tube in early February. Good luck and thanks for watching!

I was born and raised in Chicago and still live in the far southwest suburbs. That there is a Chicago accent. I go ice fishing a couple times every winter and mix it up between Devils Lake North Dakota and Lake of the woods Minnesota. We will be heading to Lake of the Woods again this winter so check back in around late February as I hope to have another video posted. Hopefully we will catch a lot of fish! It's a very very extremely wide foot I got. My foot outgrow shoes , socks , & boots when I was young & the only footwear that will barely and I mean barely fit on my foot is flip flops 🩴 which barely fit me because my toes are wider than the flip flops 🩴 straps. The Dupage is a lot of fun and can have some stretches of fast water, especially after some rain. These snakes were diamond back water snakes which are not poisonous and are not related to the diamond back rattle snake. They are also native to Illinois and the midwest. Check out my Shabbona lake state park fishing and camping trip or the Diamondback snake short. I had to remove one from my fishing boat motor. Somehow it slithered up the motor and got stuck.
