I had a very tricked out Mongoose Californian that was basically a Super goose. That & my Race Inc bikes were my favorite!! Always wanted a Kuahara because they were bad ass too!

@@johnfarrow3463 Race Inc. were GREAT bikes. I worked in a shop , and was on the race team. We were sponsored by Bullseye sealed bearings. My RI weighed 5 1/2 lbs. alloy was much better than Chromoly. And with alloy bars , rims , gooseneck ,and one piece cranks . You could get them really light. And you HAD to have a set of Snakebellies !! ✌️✌️✌️

not even close. late 80s bikes blow away early 80s bikes. i am over 50 and i have bmxed my whole life. still do. still throw tailwhips i videos at my age. raced also but no way would i pick any of these bikes for the top 6. no way.

What a throwback to an age that these bikes were the best in the business for us BMX’ers. I had a White and Red Redline and looked just like the one at the 4:56 mark. I put many miles on that bike and loved it. We used to build tracks in big fields with hairpin turn berms, jumps and whoop-dee do’s. Man that was our devices we played with in our day. so back in the day, I started out on a shock bike. like a motor less tank of a bike with shocks. my first BMX was a CCM, not good very heavy, the Kuwahara Laserlite, Haro Trick star, SE Racing quadangle and finaly a pk ripper.

I had the florescent yellow Kuwahara Bravo KT. Couldn't believe I actually got one. Retailed for apx $400 USD in 1987 (the equivalent of apx $1,100 today).

My favorite BMX I owned was a neon yellow 1991 GT Mach 1. With upgraded chrome crank, handlebars, goose neck and wheels. I hung it up in my closet with lights. Beautiful

It’s interesting to get the UK perspective from that time. Raleigh was pretty big in the US but competed with Huffy and Murray in that market. My first real BMX bike was a Team Murray which was basically a copy of a Raleigh Rampar.

I had a GT World performer. By the way, uh, Aluminum CAN definitely be welded! Yes, it takes a different process (MIG or TIG) vs. steel using (ARC(stick), MIG or TIG), but it can be welded which can be seen in almost anything made from aluminum!

2:08 Not lighter, but stronger, therefore the tubes can be thinner wall, but stronger, making the overall frame lighter. Redline RL20-II

My Mongoose got re-greased and new treads! Rode it around Panama Beach FL this past year with my wife on her 20". It had been 40 years since I had ridden that bike and at 57, it really brought back memories! The bike got a couple thumbs up!! 🤣

P.K Ripper was and will be in the next video. None of the others have been mentioned in any comments other than a reference to the Schwinn by an Australian viewer. As I say in the upcoming video, geographic location and availability are key to sales success wherever you are in the world. Every country will have its own list. 😁👍

@antiquescentral yes, I also liked the Raleigh auction video. The Schwinn Krates have really shot up in value here in the US. I sold my '70 Cotton Picker last year for $2,500 usd. I've seen another one for $5,500 and an Orange Krate listed for 10 grand. Subscribed 👈

'64 was the first year of the stingray. '68 to '73 was the run on the stick shift bikes. They were illegal after '73 because of injuries. The wide apes were outlawed in '70, no more riding on the handle bars. There were many other brands of stick shift muscle bikes around that time also 👍👈

GT Pro 5. Hutch Pro Racer 6. CW ZX Pro Of course, this list will vary depending on who is asked but this would have been my choices.
