Not sure I have a favourite as I like what you find. I'd have liked to hear more about your process and to have see you push the limits of your lens: Close focus, lots of stop, different shutter speeds, etc. Also, it would be good to see some metadata: ISO, aperture and shutter speed. OK, favourite shot is the "nice flowers"! I have an A7iv and use the Sony 85mm f/1.8. Should I trade in to buy the faster Sigma?

Thank you for the CC! Both are great lenses and with the A7IV it sounds like you are pretty set! I might be a little biased but I definitely think the 1.4 is worth the investment 😅

Take some test shots of both lenses to see if you see much difference. The Sony is a great lens, cheap, small and light. The Sigma is a tiny bit faster and heavier. Only you can see if there is a significant difference in image quality between these lenses to consider an upgrade. I have a Sony 85 1.8 and it does fine. I can't see losing money unless that sigma is really a 'game changer.' But then I am a lover of sharp zooms and really don't want to limit myself to a single focal length.

*Correction* You can use most APS-C lenses with full frame cameras. However, on your full frame camera you have to adjust settings to allow you to use it and you will still be limited by that 1.5x crop factor. A lot of times the quality is affected as well!

I am looking at this camera and the Canon m100 to start photography on a budget. Does this camera burn out batteries quick?I am considering different aspects of each camera

Unfortunately the battery life on the A6000 is not great. I keep multiple batteries with me when I go to take photos because you will run through one or two of them easy

How do you get it to zoom in before every shot?

It’s called focus peaking, when you put your camera in Manual focus it will zoom on whatever you are shooting as you turn the focus ring. It just helps with making sure you are nailing that focus since you are focusing manually!

You can totally use crop sensor lenses on the full frame. You put the camera (Alpha series) into APS-C mode. It's not ideal. But they will work. It defeats the benefits of having a full frame. But I also have this lens and absolutely love it. It totally blows out backgrounds with beautiful Bokeh.

@2121VISION I just bought the A7ii and got the 50FE for $169 on black friday, I couldn't turn it down. I'm so happy I did cause it takes damn fine pictures.

Or another thing of this camera is the compact size: I would say it is good to take out for the street photography, specifically on vacation, for traveling light. I would say you could have main good full frame camera and second this compact descent camera for everyday caring and travel, no?
