I'm a new player and I'm having a lot of fun, much more than league where you have no chance to win if you choose the wrong champion.

Its easy to buy all chemps after like 2yrs of playing? I get sth like 100k essence per season that just stacking since i unlocked everything Limited chemp pool is positive in my opinion since new players tend to try everything they can, that way they can explore mechanics of the game more and focus on how its played instead trying every chempion and being mad at how they dont understand what's going on. Many things on your video are true, and im astonished at quality of video. You get a sub GL

1. You can close the league client while in game, you can do that in the setting. You can also close the riot client, but it will run in the background like Vanguard. 2. Normal games are locked behind lvl 3, not 10. Behind lvl 10 is draft. 3. A free to play account can get all the champs in the game. 4. Leavers will be punished with leaverbuster, a system where they have to wait an extra 5 or 10 min in queue. 5. You can watch champion abilities, their difficulty and build direction Ap/Ad/CC etc in Collection. It´s the bag at the top right of the client. 6. You can grind skins through the Mastery Chest system. 7. There are occasional rotational fun modes. Apart from these, I agree with most of your points, but I didnt understand your complaints against "free" champions. Do you mean the champions in Rotation? You can play them in games. I dunno where the Error message came from.

F2P account can get all the champs, but it takes like 300+ hours gameplay to do that, he's right in saying that for a new player it can be challenging to know what champions you will like not having access to test then. Some friends that started recently also said that its hard to play against unpopular champions 'cause they dont even know what the champion does, but they also enjoyed the game even more than me

Thank you, good to know. The thing with this channel is that I try to limit my exposure to any guides and additional materials to have a genuine first impression of the game. And I don’t really have an answer to why this game was basically reworked in terms of graphics, balance and stuff like that over the years, but the interface is counterintuitive to say the least.

The quality of the video is good and I do understand the idea is to review how a complete new player would feel about the game, but I think some research should be done beforehand as some informations are straight up wrong and misleading. Some infos I founde were misleading: - Skin prices: there is a thing called Steam Market and its prices are determined by the players. So if there's a skin for U$ 0,01 or 1.000,00, it's because a player decided these prices. Valve sells skins for a more reasonable prices, although there are some more expensive ones for sure; - Repetitiveness: Dota is the moba that changes the most within each update, so it's the least repetitive one. But I agree that mobas can be repetitive to some people; - Only one gamemode: there is an arcade in Dota with custom games that range from singleplayer RPGs to multiplayer tower defence (Auto Chess - or TFT as Riot called it - was born in Dota's arcade, for example) Apart from that, great quality with video editing and format. Keep on the good work!

I can't cover all the reasons why your review is terrible but I'll cover some of the top ones. First off you're clearly a carebear and your opinion doesn't matter. Second, you only think PvP exists in instances play? Lol. Third graphics are the best out of every MMO and the game is the cheapest buy to play on the market. Out of the million and one reasons the game actually sucks today, you didn't cover any of them. 0/10 review. Don't give up your day job.

I want to address some of your points and concerns 3:34 I introduced some friends that never even touched a MOBA before to DotA, i've also coached them and helped them learn, one thing that i always say is, don't complain about how bad you are till you have at least 1000 hours, have fun, do silly builds, experiment, play every single hero, you're not gonna feel the need for meta picks, meta builds or even tracking patches unless it's a ability rework or a full hero rework, and dota gives a great in-game menu when you pick a hero that has changed in the shape of a exclamation mark below the hero in the hero selection part before a match if you really feel like you need that. 10 Hours is just experimenting in such a complex game, saying, or well, assuming dota has a negative point because of it's steep learning curve is wrong, most competitive games have a steep learning curve, and saying that there's no middle ground is also blatantly wrong, there's actually 3 middle points in dota, one of them is Herald and unranked, players can have over 10.000hours and play dota for a decade, but that place is just a zone where everything can happen, almost like a quick deathmatch or gun game in Counter strike, everything happens there because people either want a quick win without effort, or just want to have fun. Crusader is the true middle ground for dota, people there have good basics, understands what all heroes and items do, and then they need to improve on all aspects to actually climb the ranks. And surprisingly enough, saying from my own experience, the Immortal rank, while it's the highest rank achievable in dota, a low MMR immortal and a top immortal have such a massive skill gap it seems like it's an entire new rank system to climb. 4:30 This is factually wrong and actually kinda pisses me off, that's the community market, valve doesn't sell those items, players do, and the price your are complaining about, are the one in a million items that people sell for extremely high prices. In-game item progressions are EVERYWHERE, the thing is, you need to wait for them to happen, currently in 2024 there's a 6 month event called Crownfall, it's a collection of comics, minigames and side-quests that awards the player with A LOT of skins and rewards, as a player that has not spend money to unlock the better version of Crownfall yet, just the events and the in-game market that uses in-game "currency" (Candy shop and Candy) i've acquired over 60 skins, being them over 30 sets for heroes, and if you're lucky enough, you can get super rare and fancy 60$ skins (Arcanas), skins with beautiful effects that sometimes can be worth over 20$ (Immortals) and skins from past and current events. 5:05 This is true, just wanted to point out that to better your visibility you should probably visit the settings and disable a lot of screen effects, it helps a lot. 5:28 "Important information" most of the information you're talking about are mainly stats that a bunch of players will never need if they don't intend of going full ranked on dota or are curious about something like the stats, about and trends. The only information you would need that is deemed important, is the main hero page with skills, stats, and you can even see recent changes in the tooltips inside the skills itself. 8:00 Dude come on, 8:03 "the map hasn't changed significantly" the map changed significantly as soon as april of 2023 on the new frontiers update, it made the map 40% bigger, added new objectives, new structures and changed how the game was played when it comes to map fundamentals in it's very root. 8:06 "The objective if to destroy the enemy's ancient" hey, did you know that the objective on Counter Strike is to kill the bad guys, and if you're on the other team, plant a bomb. Hey did you know that in Clash of Clans the game objective is the destroy the other's village. What kind of point are you making here, and you're saying about being repetitive, but just 3 minutes ago you said at 5:49 you said the game had too many mechanics and always had different matches and kept the game fresh, and at 3:26 there was too many heroes and would always give you a different and unique match, i don't get you.

2011 was the start of closed beta testing of the game, paid early access as you can say today. But the release was on 9th of July 2013, the Dota 2 didn't come out of beta because even Valve can't change the name of game's main folder

10 hours for a dota review? 10 hours is like 10 games played. What do u expect to learn in 10 hours? Navigate de menu? In any moba u play 10 hours wont get u anywhere. Overall pretty bad video, complaining about monetization while showcasing a market item which is not even a skin for a hero, its a fucking courier, is just weird. Map got changed recently so the "same map" argument doesnt stand. In the end is just a skill issue, u have ways to play casual as well, like turbo mode, but people want to compete at highest level after few hours of gameplay
@osterbuuny30836 ай бұрын
Agreed, some of his points are so weird. Like, he says its repetitive because every match has the same objective? I guess every sport in the world is boring, then. I mean, isn't soccer just so repetitive? You have to shoot the ball into the enemy goal every single game. Such bad design... He also calls completely optional cosmetics that aren't even sold by Valve "predatory" simply because the price is high. I guess everything is predatory nowadays because something something capitalism = evil. Furthermore, "no chance to catch up with veterans"? Dude, you barely even played the game. What, after 10 hours of playing you're not a professional player? That's true for every competitive game out there, so I guess we should all either start playing comp. games at release date or just stick to Animal Crossing and Mario Party for the rest of our lives instead. This video is just so bad and uninformative all around. The only thing he can really judge with his lazy efforts is the quality of the tutorial and the Menu UIs.
@HienNguyen-cs1md6 ай бұрын
A lot of the arguments can also be said about any other MOBA. Like even in games that are more newbie-friendly like League you still need hours to at least know all the champs. A review from a few hours of gameplay is quite one-sided.
@BullberryShow5 ай бұрын
You may dislike the video, all fine. The thing was exactly about turbo mode though as I finished in there after tutorial basically: matchmaking was as I've shown in the video: I joined a week ago and I got a match versus a guy with 150+ games on that very hero. Therefore, there's like no way a noob can have a match among the noobs, and all games were like "whose carry is better and more experienced". It wouldn't change after 10, 40 or even 100 hours sadly, takes much more, so I just stopped at like 12 or so since no progression was viable. Also, for the map, it's different, but still the same. Some MOBAs have different maps like 2-4 liners, with or without additional objectives. DOTA sticks to the same map format, and I've said that it's not good, but it's not for everyone either.

Dota's item shop is based off steams market. So it's not the game, it's the players putting out ridiculous prices. Also this is probably the best time to pick up dota. Game is new for everyone. So you can catch up to veterans, bc the game is always changing.
@jaidenlogan34946 ай бұрын
Also, the high priced items you came across were marketplace items. Not sold by valve, instead sold by other players. So.. not predatory. Pretty sure the most expensive items valve sells are the arcanas, which are $30
