Also, the high priced items you came across were marketplace items. Not sold by valve, instead sold by other players. So.. not predatory. Pretty sure the most expensive items valve sells are the arcanas, which are $30

You talk about no significant map changes, bruh literally whole map got expanded recently and there's much new stuff added with certain auras at certain parts of the map.

I'm a new player and I'm having a lot of fun, much more than league where you have no chance to win if you choose the wrong champion.

Dota's item shop is based off steams market. So it's not the game, it's the players putting out ridiculous prices. Also this is probably the best time to pick up dota. Game is new for everyone. So you can catch up to veterans, bc the game is always changing.

The quality of the video is good and I do understand the idea is to review how a complete new player would feel about the game, but I think some research should be done beforehand as some informations are straight up wrong and misleading. Some infos I founde were misleading: - Skin prices: there is a thing called Steam Market and its prices are determined by the players. So if there's a skin for U$ 0,01 or 1.000,00, it's because a player decided these prices. Valve sells skins for a more reasonable prices, although there are some more expensive ones for sure; - Repetitiveness: Dota is the moba that changes the most within each update, so it's the least repetitive one. But I agree that mobas can be repetitive to some people; - Only one gamemode: there is an arcade in Dota with custom games that range from singleplayer RPGs to multiplayer tower defence (Auto Chess - or TFT as Riot called it - was born in Dota's arcade, for example) Apart from that, great quality with video editing and format. Keep on the good work!

Are you using text to speech? It sounds kind of weird at times 😅 But nice idea for a video

Let's call it some autotune + speed adjustment + some post-record editing. Feels clunky for now, will be better.

10 hours for a dota review? 10 hours is like 10 games played. What do u expect to learn in 10 hours? Navigate de menu? In any moba u play 10 hours wont get u anywhere. Overall pretty bad video, complaining about monetization while showcasing a market item which is not even a skin for a hero, its a fucking courier, is just weird. Map got changed recently so the "same map" argument doesnt stand. In the end is just a skill issue, u have ways to play casual as well, like turbo mode, but people want to compete at highest level after few hours of gameplay

Agreed, some of his points are so weird. Like, he says its repetitive because every match has the same objective? I guess every sport in the world is boring, then. I mean, isn't soccer just so repetitive? You have to shoot the ball into the enemy goal every single game. Such bad design... He also calls completely optional cosmetics that aren't even sold by Valve "predatory" simply because the price is high. I guess everything is predatory nowadays because something something capitalism = evil. Furthermore, "no chance to catch up with veterans"? Dude, you barely even played the game. What, after 10 hours of playing you're not a professional player? That's true for every competitive game out there, so I guess we should all either start playing comp. games at release date or just stick to Animal Crossing and Mario Party for the rest of our lives instead. This video is just so bad and uninformative all around. The only thing he can really judge with his lazy efforts is the quality of the tutorial and the Menu UIs.

A lot of the arguments can also be said about any other MOBA. Like even in games that are more newbie-friendly like League you still need hours to at least know all the champs. A review from a few hours of gameplay is quite one-sided.

You may dislike the video, all fine. The thing was exactly about turbo mode though as I finished in there after tutorial basically: matchmaking was as I've shown in the video: I joined a week ago and I got a match versus a guy with 150+ games on that very hero. Therefore, there's like no way a noob can have a match among the noobs, and all games were like "whose carry is better and more experienced". It wouldn't change after 10, 40 or even 100 hours sadly, takes much more, so I just stopped at like 12 or so since no progression was viable. Also, for the map, it's different, but still the same. Some MOBAs have different maps like 2-4 liners, with or without additional objectives. DOTA sticks to the same map format, and I've said that it's not good, but it's not for everyone either.

@Chasodey5 ай бұрын
2011 was the start of closed beta testing of the game, paid early access as you can say today. But the release was on 9th of July 2013, the Dota 2 didn't come out of beta because even Valve can't change the name of game's main folder
