JESUS DID *NOT* SUPPORT WHAT IN HIS DAY WAS CALLED "MARRIAGE"--BUT IS KNOWN TODAY AS SEX TRAFFICKING! So many Christian preachers and teachers today try to make it seem like Jesus believed in what we today call marriage and that he said getting a divorce was wrong. Trouble is, what we today consider marriage and divorce did not even exist in his day! It is true that Jesus did oppose a common punishment sex slave owning men ("husbands") used to frighten their sex slaves ("wives") into submission--the practice of Banishment, or what was also known as Putting Away, that is, selling off a female sex slave on the cheap! However, many bibles falsely mistranslate the brutal practice of Banishment, using the word the "divorce" instead! Jesus was asked a trick question once, by some religious legalists who said, "WHEN is it OK for a man to punish one of his sex slaves with Banishment? For any reason, or only if he catches her with another man?" They tried to say Moses was fine with it, but were hoping to get him to say something against Moses or in favor of men selling off women in this horrible way, which resulted in never seeing their children again or, never to see a true love again if they had one. But Jesus explained Moses' law was given for the hardness of men's hearts! That he had attempted to improve the lot of sexually enslaved women by at least requiring men who wanted to kick a woman out of his home to legally grant her manumission, so she could at least be purchased by another man and have a roof over her head (as opposed to living on the street with nothing)! He went on, though, to explain the entire system of sexual enslavement was not how things were in the beginning, when God created sex and sexual attraction. He quoted Genesis, Chapter 2, to remind that what God really wanted was for men and women to form mutually-consenting love relationships! The writ mentioned by Moses is nothing at all like what we would today call a "divorce decree," but a manumission--the same document a slave owner would create to free a slave. Depending on when and where one lived in biblical times, a written sales document might have been issued when a man bought a girl, but very often, especially in rural villages where hardly anyone could read, any sales exchange, whether it was to buy a cow or a girl, the deal was sealed by a public ceremony in the village center where witnesses were assembled to verify the exchange. For example, two men trading animals would, ritualistically swap leashes to show which animal now belonged to whom. When a man bought a girl, he'd "tie the knot," that is, he'd tie his leash through her nose ring after he paid her father whatever the bride price was (Yes, that where a father "giving away the bride" came from, except he didn't just give her away for free!) These same false preachers and teachers often cite Jesus' attendance at the Wedding in Cana, claiming that he would never have gone to the party had he not thought buying and selling girls was just fine and dandy! But Jesus went to where the sinners were! He would even have dinner and even drank wine with publicans (considered the worst of sinners), not because he approved of their behavior, but because, as he said, "It's the sick that need the physician!" Now, it is true that Jesus never openly advocated for the abolition of slavery, whether it was slave labor or sex trafficking. Instead, he focused on the fundamental changes necessary in people's hearts which, ultimately, laid the groundwork for both evil institutions to be banned or, in the case of sexual slavery, modified to be rid of its worst aspects. For any who doubt that a "marriage" in biblical times was nothing more than a purchase, simply read Hosea 3:2 where after the prophet agrees to take a certain Gomer as a wife, he says, "So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley." Therefore, anyone who has been told by some false preacher or teacher that s/he must remain in a marriage where the love has long vanished or even if there is abuse going on, be assured Jesus made no such demands! JOHN 2 7 JESUS SAID TO THE SERVANTS, “FILL THE JARS WITH WATER”; SO THEY FILLED THEM TO THE BRIM. <> THE WINE IN THIS MIRACLE MAY WELL REPRESENT THE HOLY SPIRIT <> MARK 2 22 AND NO ONE POURS NEW WINE INTO OLD WINESKINS. OTHERWISE, THE WINE WILL BURST THE SKINS, AND BOTH THE WINE AND THE WINESKINS WILL BE RUINED. NO, THEY POUR NEW WINE INTO NEW WINESKINS.” JOHN 20 22 AND WHEN HE HAD SAID THIS, HE BREATHED ON THEM, AND SAITH UNTO THEM, RECEIVE YE THE HOLY SPIRIT: AMEN - HALLELUIAH. 11:09 Please note that some people do not drink any alcohol at all throughout their lives. There exist weddings without drop of alcohol and it is perfectly fine, but, maybe because the context of your culture and society you find that impossible to believe. This miracle has deep meanings. John 15:1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener." Also, the jars were special items, used for cleaning only, not for drinking, this is not just a random thing. This is also connected to Jesus's sacrifice.

Valid point. The Levites were not to drink wine (fermented grape juice) or drink with alcohol. But what did they drink? They didn't aways drink grape juice because in that Era grape juice could not be preserved and it would ferment naturally. Grape season was from July - September so any grape juice from that time would start to ferment after a few days. So all weddings, dinners and ceremonies would have to be during the grape harvest to avoid drinking fermented wine. At the Last Supper the wine at the dinner table was definitely fermented wine. The Romans did water down the wine for various reasons so the children of Israel may have watered down to wine to avoid taking in to much alcohol but then it wouldn't taste as good. Maybe that's why the Master of the Banquet said this the best wine he's ever tasted because they didn't serve the cheap stuff( watered down wine) at the end?

@@hey.hombre There is no good reason to say that the drink at the last supper was fermented... Please read in all 4 gospels. It never says word "wine" in them at the last supper. And each of them is written by independent writers. At least that detail alone should raise a question. First of all, do we know what climate was back then? Are we sure that one could not find grapes around? Please note that, during biblical times, medicine was not so highly advanced as today, so alcohol was used in case of special medical problems. It had many useful properties, such as disinfectant (Luke 10:34, good Samaritan). Even the nowdays kosher wine (made under supervision of rabbi has at most 11%). Secondly, there are many ways to prevent fermentation. One is simply by boiling the grape juice. Another one is to combine it with different vegetables (such as horseraddish). Wine tastes sour, while real grape juice tastes sweet, eventually has bubbles, if it stays a bit longer. The more alcohol it gets, the more sour it gets. No way more alcohol would taste better. Oh, perhaps for drunkards it would (only for them, the more% the better)! But in terms of taste really, less% is more! Would the high percentage wine of today taste better than fresh grape juice? Definately not in my oppinion... Oh, if it has a bit of sparkling, maybe can still taste good, but then percentage of alcohol is still very small compared to regular wine of today.

@Kokon Pondo No, Mary Magdalene actually wasn't even there at the wedding, only Jesus, the disciples, and the mother of Jesus were mentioned, apart from the people normally present at the wedding. Actually Mary Magdalene is encountered way much later in the bible.

What's the meaning of the wine and water
@nicolaebacrau6703
@nicolaebacrau6703 2 жыл бұрын
@@Noname-qz5hg There are many meanings. Water can signify purifying, such as in case of baptism. By the way, the jars were used for purifying, not for drinking, so that has a deep meaning. Apart from meaning life, "Fruit of the vine" means the blood of Jesus. Matthew 26:28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.29 I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

It shows Mary was seeking divine help as in she understood who her son really was. The Son of God. It shows the Spirit of God acted at the point of Jesus's will as He never spoke words to the jars of water to change to wine. We read elsewhere where the Roman soldier recognized Jesus's authority. Also elsewhere in the testimony Jesus implied the works performed show that the Father is in Him and He in the Father. They are one. So who is He that the eternal Spirit of God acts on His will? The storms were made still, the blind received their sight. The crippled walked again and the dead were raised. He spoke as no other had spoken before and could not be outfoxed by all the craftiness of the Sanhedrin..

But what if someone lies to us? Or has hurt us? I feel that if we don’t hold them accountable we will be depressed and continue to be walked on. This is my greatest confusion with this passage. It seems to be saying that we can never call out right from wrong, and I think that is dangerous?? For example, a Judge in court must judge a person if they are brought in on a charge? Otherwise the judge would just have to let a murderer go free? Can you explain it in this context of holding someone accountable? The Bible also says to flee from evil, so clearly we have to have a discerning mind! The Bible speaks of the importance of having a discerning mind and to test the spirits often. I found this video just now on KZbin that I think addresses my questions! I will paste it below! I think it is important that we offer forgiveness to those who have hurt us if asked, but we do have to have Godly standards and continuously work on ourselves as well (before we can help lead a brother or sister!). kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5TTgZWKlqeVmpY

Soldiers killed Jesus. Soldiers persecuted the apostles. soldiers persecuted the early church. thou shall not kill, he who carry the sword shall die by the sword. Be harmless as doves, turn the other chick. Love your enemies, not kill them. Narrow is the way, many are in the broad path. There Will always be more than enough people in the world who will be soldiers. Christians are peacemakers.

The Roman Catholic Church traditionally held to the view of eternal torment. Purgatory and Hell are not the same place in Catholic Theology. Purgatory was for those who die with unconfessed Venial Sins, Hell for those who die with unconfessed Mortal Sins. Purgatory is temporal, but Hell is eternal.
