I think it looks fun and something different. These days it's refreshing to get something that's not just a remake or a sequel that wasn't really needed. I didn't realize the audio was so bad on this video until I played it on my TV. Tried out some Bluetooth mics. Going back to the wired one till I can find something better lol.

Somewhat true. Indian action films do have a 90s vibe from a western point of view. But our cinema has always been this way so I wouldn’t necessarily call it a 90s vibe. It’s just a unique characteristics of the Indian cinema. If we don’t have over the top action, it’s not an action movie. Some are good and some are appalling. Depends on the budget haha. To be fair, Bollywood does pump out more movies per year than Hollywood, so expect a wide range in budget between movies.

One thing I will say about this movie, it glosses over the <MINOR SPOILERS> Indian soldiers of the British Indian Army that were being commanded by Brigadier General Dyer. Those men weren't from the same region, Punjab. They were either Gorkhas from Nepal or Baloch from modern day Pakistani province of Balochistan. And these men were all veterans of World War 1. We all know how that brutal war affected the soldiers' psyche. Normally, a soldier wouldn't pull that trigger so easily even when ordered. This is a fact skipped by this movie, but it is important in the backdrop of the British Imperial policy of "Divide-and-Rule" that they employed, which was the only thing that allowed the British to actually keep India as a colony for so long. Had the British tried this in the India of the post Gupta era, they'd have been humbled like the Huns were. Because India was united back then. Alas, by the time the British arrived in India, India had been grappling with incessant waves of foreign invasions and occupations for almost 1000 years. They found India in its weakened state, divided into 500+ Princely States, instead of a single massive Empire with medium-strong kingdoms on the frontiers. British simply exploited those divisions created by 10 centuries of foreign occupation by invaders of an alien culture from the Middle-East (West Asia) and Central Asia.

Subbed. I do consider this to be the best movie ever made in India. Maybe its just the style but my favourite movies tend to be non-fiction, like The Imitation Game or First Man. Would have been great if you'd have compared and contrasted this movie with RRR, since they both depict the same topic of British Imperialism in India. In my book, even though RRR shows a much more 1-dimensional portrayal of the British villains whereas Sardar Udham has a much more nuanced take on the British villains, despite that, the British Empire comes across as more ev!l and sinister in Sardar Udham. Haven't cried this hard since Episode 9 of Band of Brothers. 2:00 Monkey Man is not an Indian film though. Dev Patel is a British actor. Do check out the Indian horror movie: Tumbadd. Not your run-of-the-mill ghost haunting people movie.

*Now you know 0.01% history of british brutality in India.* What they didn't show is he individually corrected the soldiers who were missing the shots and ordered them to shoot at the densest section of the crowd so that more people can get killed in less time and Bullets. Real joke is... Majority of british historians and journalists nowadays say that colonies have prospered because of Colonialism. *Insensitivity to another level.

The Richmond Dispatch (10 July 1894) and the Record-Union (1 September 1894) printed an article on 'How British Sportsmen Hunt Crocodiles in India' where an ex-officer of the British Army was quoted as saying, 'We used to have a great sport in India going out after crocodiles with Hindu babies as bait'.

I am SO disappointed in this movie! Comparing it to Silence of Lambs, Seven and Zodiac is a f**king insult. I was so looking forward to Longlegs because of all the amazing marketing tricks. I'm not gonna make that mistake again. What a let down. The plot, omg...the plot! How convenient that the FBI call in a young agent and then it turns out that most of her life the serial killer has lived in the basement of her childhood home and that he has "employed" her mother to do his murderous deeds. It's absolutely ridiculous.

I disagree, i think the bandits are almost all shown to be like animals. When the robbery first starts ALL of them are looting and going fucking crazy. Yeah I guess you could feel bad for them but they chose to get on that train and they are the robbers after all.

RottenTomatoes is an aggregator. It's movie critics from tons of outlets and publications giving their reviews who watch at least 100 movies a year. If Rottentomatoes gives it a very bad score it means to save your money and wait till it reaches streaming or VOD. These people don't pan a Madame Web for nothing.
