That’s gold. Love how you were able to identify the play & then pick up on the two scenarios, from different matches. Games, within games! 🎾🏆

Terrible example. Cites that Alcaraz will run around on to his forehand, Alvarez doesn’t move, opponent hits poorly to his forehand. Then states that Alcaraz will ‘clean up’ with an easy volley and overhead. It’s actually a really ooorly executed volley from Alcaraz straight to the middle of the court. Luckily his opponent returns poorly for an overhead. Alcaraz should have been in much more control of this point and finished on the volley

Thing is that is desired tactic to drive off Djokovic from baseline and wait for short ball and step into court finshing point with a volley. But he was not able to execute this plan trough most of their encounters on Grand Slams after 2011 as Djokovic is very consistent and was enough patient to wait Federer to start commencing unforced errors and at the end winning most of their most important matches after 2011. In short this Federer tactic is well designed but he usually was not able to maintain high level of tennis trough whole match and therecore execute this tactic until he wins.

Djokovich’s dilema is rather tragic, he will have to understand someday, that championships and the such does not immediately translate into becoming a people’s favorite. He is excited, seeking supply now because he doesn’t have the Big three status anymore, he believes he is the Big one. But like Mayweather, some day he will hopefully understand that, the people choose their champion, not the champion the people 🤷♂️

Nope ...djokovic is the Floyd Mayweather of the tennis world. If you don't know FM is the boxer with a "perfect record" but most don't consider him the greatest. The ONLY reason your boy was able to accumulate so many Grand Slams is because around d 2010 the USTA decided they were going to slow down the speed of hard courts, which obviously works our much better for the consistent baseliner as opposed to an all court shot maker like Federer. He's lucky they made every surface basically the same ...slow and slower. Tennis is about more than just being consistent from the baseline but court speed matters. There should be 3 speeds of court which in the past showed a true representation of skill amongst different styles. Djokovic can't even volley let alone play an all court attacking game and you want people to think he's better than Federer? Sampras was better than him on a fast hard court too but if they had played against each other on today's slow hard courts Djoko wind every time ..just like djokovic would've won on clay back in samprass' era U see how that works?

It always starts and ends with the footwork. You got kinda lazy there and just stood around. When that happens your stroke changes. You start playing behind the ball, overreaching, doing funky shots that you shouldn't, not getting in place to drive the ball instead of moonballing it. You become a stump with a tennis racket. When things are going wrong always think about the footwork first. No amount of planning, strategizing, game prep, practice will help if you don't move early, move many (steps) to get to the ball and ready to stroke before the ball gets to you. The strategy of tennis is to get as much time as you can and to give the other guy less time than they need.

Ironically, Djokovic is the least opponent against whom is this tactic effective on grass as he won three Wimbledon matches and Federer only one in their encounters.
