If there's one shot from the 2023 season Novak Djokovic wishes he could do over, it was in the Wimbledon final against Carlos Alcaraz. Djokovic was serving at 1-1 in the 5th set, he was down 30-40 and got broken because he hit a shot he probably wishes he could do over. From there, Alcaraz held the rest of the way to win the Wimbledon crown.

7:10 from there on Will ... I think you are making an error in the way you are thinking about this. Alcaraz isn't anticipating anything. He is reading. Reading the body position just before contact, reading the feet positioning, reading the racket face. He is completely focused and in the moment. Tracking the ball (going into the racket and leaving it. There is no anticipation going on in a moment like that. It's all reacting. There is no time to think. For serves and returns yes, these type if discussions have their use. In this case not so much. Just look at 7:10 Alcaraz is recovering to the middle until just before Djokovic makes contact. He at that exact moment splitsteps of course and than reads it (its not going to the open court) and it goes so fast that when he lands his splitstep he has read it and splitsteps in the direction the ball is going. He didnt anticipate it and jist waited for the ball in that corner. Djokovic messed up because the approach wasn't deep enough. That's it.

That's the major factor is Alcaraz is reading the shot and reacting. On the other hand Djokovic is under CONSTANT pressure in this game of a break and match swing going behind for the break point and having to recover and not only that against an energetic and creatively unpredictable opponent like Alcaraz who can inject finesse and power suddenly and finally make improbable returns on shots that should lead to winners or set up a winner in the next shot. The shot Djokovic went for was simply, he could not risk a failed forehand with a rushing opponent and tried to go for a safer controlled shot to out-step Alcaraz who he hoped would over-rush back into the court. As it was all that pressure and risk and reading by Alcaraz lead to the break in serve. As said it's a lot more complicated than stats percentages what happened which aligns with what you are pointing out from Alcaraz but there's also Djokovic's choices also.

Purchased your app. And you have one video explaining a kick serve. The person who is the “expert” does not touch the ball. The video angles are miles above at times. How are you charging money for a kick serve video with one video where the expert does not even touch the ball? I’ve gone through other content that is no better than what is on your free KZbin page. Very disappointing. A lot of marketing and sales, but the app needs a ton of work before anyone should pay for it.

Statistics like "attacking the forehand in first 4 shots" are only good as long as only one player knows about it. Since both players know this is, players are obviously going to train accordingly. For example, they say that serving to the returner's backhand side is better, because that would be their weaker side. But guess what, the return is coming to the server's backhand side (2:53), because the returner also knows that backhand is the server's weaker side. Another example is that, after the approach shot you should follow the ball and cover the down the line pass. Therefore nowadays passing cross court is more effective. So the stats got reversed because the stats were exposed.

The whole stats of this channel are dubious. Attacking the forehand' in the first 4 shots is effective because the first couple shots (serve and follow-up) are usually good for the server. It has nothing to do directly with it being the 4th or 5th shot. Using the shot count to determine where to hit is bullshit, you should use how easy or hard the shot is.

i believe the shot he would wish to do over would have been that swing volley into the net no the 5th set. complete momentum changer

For sure it was this point, the swing volley that decided the match
