Dave gave me all the aluminum to sort he is 100% right the time it took me to sort the aluminum and the metal was weeks. Was it worth it at the end for me yes but to Dave who has other jobs and running a business absolutely not that’s why he gave it to me. We didn’t have time to fiddle fart around with trying to sell things. It’s really hard to sell things in this market. It’s faster just to get rid of it.

Don’t worry about the armchair “ coaches “. 😂 Everyone has an opinion about everything . You can’t do much about what is recycled , because you don’t have any control over that . All you can do is contact your city council and make a suggestion . Where I am, we have great recycling facilities . Except for asphalt shingles . Oh, they can be recycled , but you have to drive out of the city to deliver them . Otherwise, dump fees are 180.00 per tonne on those suckers . Just keep being you . 😊

That's a happy employee right there! Cool find too! Do you know the weight capacity on those trucks? I keep seeing the "landscape dump" ones and thinking they would work great, but I've heard they aren't built for the weight capacity we typically hold when its in its tipping angle.
@lugstarsjunkremoval4 күн бұрын
@@clutterreductionjunkremoval this truck actually has a lighter upfit, so it can load more than the other one! They’re 14,900 in Gross weight (GVWR) and about 10k empty so I can load at least 2.5 tons easy. Yes they’re sold as landscape trucks and those guys haul mulch and sod so they can handle weight
@clutterreductionjunkremoval4 күн бұрын
@@lugstarsjunkremoval That's good to know because I've noticed a decent price difference in a full fledge junk truck vs a landscape dump. We don't take concrete, dirt, stuff like that so I'd imagine the 2.5 tons would be plenty for us. Our full 17 yard load is on average 1 ton for household furniture

Why cant they reuse them again?or are they to old?
@nosk19846 күн бұрын
There is more money in wire their than there is in that steel. Guaranteed. You guys didn't take the stainless steel rollers off of the conveyer or aluminum to make more money? Then you have all the power panels with the breakers & solid copper lugs. I'm sure you all just tossed in with the steel. Again another few things you could of made some damn good money on by separating it off site or even there. You could of tripled your money almost by separating the materials. 1 more ? Do you guys have a paying recycling yard for that 40 tons of glass or does it just end up in the landfill? Just wondering bc some states buy it from you & others don't.

Every single person here saying "you should have tried to resell that" has absolutely zero experience in the commercial market. No large business is going to buy used looking to save a few thousand dollars on a multi million dollar project - it's not worth the effort, nor the risk. I can say with certainty you would have ended up warehousing all that stuff for years before finally deciding to dump it for scrap. You did leave a lot of money on the table however by not separating your salvage metals.
@tuck64645 күн бұрын
He missed out on about 2 million dollars.(selling to a wholesaler) That was 8- 10 million dollars worth of equipment. If he was a little more resourceful, he would have pocketed 1.5 million. ** That's leaving 500K for extra handling.** I'm sure he tried for an hour or two to wholesale it, but not long enough. He could have googled the manufacturer, and or the distributor / installers, and gotten all the information he he needed. It may have taken a week of two, to get a good lead. Yes, handling that much material would be a substantial chore, but very well worth it. That large business, that could have/would have needed/used that equipment, would have saved about 5 million. There are tons of independent Amazon/Walmart type ship, substations fitting out in all 50 or so States. **CORRECTION** I thought there was more than just those 4 lines involved in that clean out. I was looking at the rest of the building and all that pallet rack as well. But there was still a 150-200 K wholesale there.
