Great vid and music in the background. One note, The Selimiye Cami is almost finished being renovated. Probably they finish it in a couple of months from now.

oh dear, a grockle claiming that turning Fort Regent into a leisure centre was a mistake clearly never visited it in the 70's and 80's when there was live shows, attractions and a fun fair. the 2 fortifications in St Aubin's Bay are Elizabeth Castle, where the last siege on British soil of the English Civil occurred. the other is St Aubin's Fort.

ok sure, happy to concede that it may have been a riot for 2 decades ...around 3.5 decades ago hows about now? now the dead mall vibes have set in: still convinced that it was such a future-proof plan?

@@ForestArchaicCollective you do know that the States of Jersey gave up Tourism for the Finance Sector ... right?
@ForestArchaicCollective3 күн бұрын
@@jeanlongsden1696 well sure, my point being that using a historic landmark to be a leisure centre ...a building that could go anywhere up-to-and-including on the edge of town, not a great plan I mean its pretty standard mid-20th century planning, but as i said future proof... less so

Thanks for the video. Very close to the ruins of Medina Azahara, just 20 minutes away on the same road, there is a beautiful medieval castle of Arab and later Christian origin, the setting for the Game of Thrones series (kingdom of Casterly rock), the castle of Almodovar del Rio, on a mountain next to the Guadalquivir river. It is a magnificent, perfectly preserved castle that is worth visiting. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZobWeYVjjbp8mqssi=ZeOWQLJ6Bs3t2NG_ kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXarqoiLmrmplbssi=RhFMbYp3hgLh3NEI

yh - tbh we were kinda railroaded by the Flixbus times - if it was more like a train timetable with at least 7-8 a day we could've spread it out more evenly but sometimes we only had one [good] choice of route time

Instant like, I have spend several years in Bratislava :) Its a not so pretty city with a very pretty old town and plenty of old castles around. Fun fact - there are remains of second century Roman military fort at the suburbs of Bratislava (Rusovce). Nothing spectacular but still interesting. I am glad to see that there is a new bus station (previous one was horrid) and the area of the castle also had some renovation happening so very interesting to see :)

I’m heading to pula this year which is where my grandfather left his country in 1950 for Australia with his family as refugees. There’s not a lot of info on KZbin about this town so I appreciate the work you put into this, it’s helped to build an understanding of my own history. Also i love all the ambient jungle beats, please keep producing. Reminds me of cfcf liquid colours

I'll be honest - this video influenced yet another holiday of mine. I went to Dubrovnik because of your video, and now I have visited Malaga area - including Cordoba and Granada, because of this/those video(s). Admittedly I have family with a superb and comfortable hotel 40 mins north of Antequera which I was able to use and abuse for nothing. I did *LOADS* of things in a week but I must go back to see the dolmens of Antequera, which I missed out on, and I hear they have a 'walking with wolves' type experience in the area which makes a great balance. I wonder how fast I can run away, if needed? Perhaps it is wrong to promote or mention another KZbin history channel but Stefan Milo waxed lyrical about the dolmens of Antequera in his "5 incredible ancient monuments you might not know" vid. Spectacular. "... for sure one of Europe's greatest Neolithic achievements ... ought to be as well known and appreciated as Stonehenge"
