Nin hao . Qing, zimian yisi shi " de huà" (2. 20.) . Huà , words, but with "de" before, "de" should mark the part before... Kind of "let us say" ?

Dumb English question. What does it mean as a function on a cooking appliance? There is a button that translates as ‘ reservation’ on my rice cooker. Doesn’t appear to do anything…

Bopomofo is great! If you learn it correctly you can have the corect and real Mandarin pronunciation. Pinyin is confusng to me, because my native language is Spanish and those letters are pronounced differently than in pinyin phonetics. On the other hand, with Bopomofo that cannot happen because each sign is pronounced in one and only way. (With the addition of the different tones of course)

Problem with this video is the same with ㄅㄆㄇㄈ in general: In Taiwan things are pronounced differently. For instance ㄕ is pronounced like english letter "s", not "sh". If you learn chinese mostly to speak in Taiwan, this will mess up your hearing and speaking habits.
