Fantastic education, Blake. I’m pretty sure Scott & I went to school together (he at OSU & I at UM) in the early 90s.

It's a bummer, I hate to see that one, really any mill go away. I do have plans to set up my mill at my place I'm post falls, I'm aimed more for post and beam and not quite a stud mill level of production. But, it will be a pretty cool little operation when I'm done with it!

All the resources at their front door, but yet they don’t have access to them due to government red tape. We can let our forest burn or we can manage them.

I have to disagree firewood prices have been stagnant in lane county for years. Seems like in the last 10 years you can buy a cord of fir cut and split 175-225 a cord. By the time you add in fuel cost, truck cost, saw maintenance. Plus the time and energy to process the wood. You're not left with much profit.
@blakemanley2470
@blakemanley2470 3 ай бұрын
Good to know. Idaho right now it’s $250 plus and in Northern California it’s over $325 average. When you look at log prices in those areas it’s equivalent to $150 a cord. West side Oregon markets are much different.

Been at it for a while now. Here on the east coast of Canada we have center mounted loaders on our quad axle trailers and haul 33 tons of logs. Gross weight is 55.5 tons. It’s definitely an interesting way of life.
