Those stamps are right up my alley! I am new to journaling and stationary and I am having a blast. I have been wanting to jump into fountain pens but have no clue about them. If you were gifting someone new to the world of fountain pens, ink, paper, and such what would that look like? Any recommendations?

Well, now you've gone and done it! Although I'm a newb, I was already wandering around the fountain pen rabbit warren, dragging my teeny, tiny stamp collection behind me, plus a bottle of Ancient Copper ink. Then this post, which connects all the dots. Yes, the pharmacy stamps are fire, but the pen with the extra-fine flex nib is fiery-er. I had no idea before this post about its existence. Now I can't un-see it. I will have it. Someday. Thanks, Mark. My "no-spend month" is hereby officially in the rear-view mirror. There's always July... TFS (sigh).

It makes me so sad when shipping is so much money! The set set is amazing. I always think, if shipping a major issue for me, I’d bundle up and split the shipping with someone… or just save up a bunch, buy it lol and use a code to make me feel like I’d offset the cost

@@markyourpages I’d love to split with someone but I don’t know anyone involved with calligraphy. One catch on just saving or just ordering becomes the dollar exchange and possibly duty. This one stamp set would end up over $130 I think.😢😢

Ooh, so you can use converters from other fountain pens? I have a converter for another fountain pen floating around somewhere and am thinking I’d like it way better than the one that came with this pen. Overall, I like the weight of the pen, but I do find that the ink doesn’t seem to come out as well after I’ve been writing for a few minutes. I’m new to fountain pens, so maybe I’m doing something wrong, but as I write, the ink gets lighter and lighter!

Yes, it does work with other ones - but you have to make sure that it’s the right size end so it fits and you dont have any leakage. Some pens are just a bit finicky - so you have to make sure it’s clean and free of any paper fibers stuck in the nib. That is what gets me in trouble a lot.

I’m also a lefty! I’ve been hesitant to try fountain pens because of it. Any tips or tricks? (I’m a newer viewer so forgive me if you’ve talked on this before!)

You just need to be very ware of where your hand is when you write. As a lefty I am sure you already contort your body for writing ;-) also find a good fast drying ink. That will make a big difference as well. Oh and nice extra fine tip pen.

Great haul! I love that flex nib, it's gorgeous! I am intrigued by the wood pharmacy stamp because of the fact that it references Alliance, OH, and I live twenty minutes from there. I will now deep dive into researching if this was a real pharmacist! Thanks for sharing your haul!

The flex nib was something that I was not expecting to love as much as a do, but the EF flex… perfect. Let me know what you find out. That would be so cool if there was actual connection.

Great haul! That pen is GORGEOUS! I don't own any by Delta. Now I'm thinking I might have to get one. 😅 Btw, the brand of your new ink is Taccia. Roughna is the line. Definitely, a great color. It wasn't until I got into watercolor that I realized I love earth tones, so I'm definitely drawn to similar colors when it comes to fountain pen inks. Thanks for the wonderful video!

Stamps are a lot of fun. Once you accept that it can get a little messy - but with good ink and awareness - you can keep things pretty clean… but things happen.

I love watching your reviews. I've said it before, but you're very transparent and I completely appreciate that. I think when people get these items for free, they automatically love it all. However, you have to put yourself in the position of paying money for these items. You do that like no one else. Thank you!!!

I appreciate that! I always try to be respectful of the brand, because a lot of hard work goes into these things, but also share my own opinions as a consumer. I always say that you can be a fan of a brand but not love every single thing they do, and that’s okay.

Vintage is actually quite easy to find in the stationery world. It just depends on what you're looking for (real vintage ephemera or vintage-looking ephemera), where you shop, and how much you're willing to spend. Small business-owned shops (especially those on platforms like Etsy and sometimes Ebay) yield better results for vintage ephemera than big box stores like Michael's and Jo-Ann's, but may have slightly higher prices. Additionally, many Asian-based businesses tend to cater to more cutesy (Kawaii) stationery items versus American and European-based businesses.

Im excited, as i just opened mine up. I love it, but im noticing i cant fit everything in the case either. So i took to google to see if its just me or what. Not only do the pens and washi tape interfere with one another... But even without pens, i can not get this cover to close with the journal and the washi tapes it came with. Is it just me? Ive been searching the internet a bit and dont see anyone else mentioning it. Am i only supposed to use the washi holder when the whole set up is open? If so, whats the point of that? Itll hold it for the 10 mins everythings opened up in use, and then i gotta take the washi tape out of the case and plop it in an ugly ziplock then? Caught me off gaurd with this lol.

@@markyourpages try it! I opened it all up and was excited because I like to bring mine to work, and do some journalling whenever I have a spare moment. I have a really small elastic zipper pen pouch that slides on the front cover, so I can only use 2 colors at a time cuz that's all I can bring. Was excited to be able to have a nice whole set up lol. I'm super glad I can at least bring additional pens (and I love these Archer and olive ones! First time having any from them) and can fit some small stencils and some sticker pages in here too. But no washi tape unfortunately. Was only able to get one tape to fit. The tape has to be sideways too so it lays like flat.

For as much as they brag about the eco friendliness, sustainability, etc, it sure takes A LOT of water to clean.

I am sure I could have run that water lower and gotten the same effect. Usually, if you are keeping that same color, you would just refill without cleaning it. Or use a different color. I would portable say that we are more likely to waste on many other things then the amount that we would need to clean this every now and again. I don’t disagree with you, but i don’t think that it’s a deal breaker for me personally knowing that I will only really clean this nib every now and again.

I really like the sticker binders from ray and tay . They have big binders you can put many different sized pockets in the one binder and they also have boxes and folders and dividers for any way you want to organise and store. I also like the Korean photo card albums which work in a similar way but are thinner folders so don’t store as much but are cheaper

I agree with your comments about the folio case, a plain cover or a cover with the stationary icons on it would have been better as nothing else has flowers on it. I would have preferred a colour like grey or navy for it too. I thought the other items were great, and I look forward to using them. I'm especially excited about the B5 journal because we don't get so many of those in these boxes. Loved your video, keep up the excellent work!

I have Lumos duo black. Overall I like it. Brush nib isn't very flexible, but I guess it's apersonal preference. What I absolutely hate is how tiny threads are. I am constantly nervous to mess up the thread when cupping the pen. Also a tip: do not overtight cotton reservoir holder (part of the nib holder construction) as it will be almost impossible to unscrew it from other pen. I had to use elastic band to unscrew it as the silicon cup that comes with the pen doesn't have enough grip.

I have had the same issue! I thought it was just me. I have a little pair of rubber pliers I keep at my desk for different things. Honestly they have been a life saver for this!

Yeah, but as a fineliner / fiber tip pen option. They do sell their own fountain pens too - so a slightly different product with the reusability factor added in.

I have found that it is about the quality of the ink and stamp + your skills. So I love Versafine ink - it does amazing on fine stamps like this. And each stamp needs something different. Some a harder press, some you just have to tap on the page. I always like to use a spare piece of paper first to just make sure I know what is needed before i take things to my notebook. Hope that helps

That green notebook is gorgeous and the B5 stencil such a good idea. Still, I don't regret skipping this one. It just doesn't feel... special. I love A&O because I find designs, themes, and products there that I don't see anywhere else. But I've absolutely seen versions of those stickers and washi everywhere, from other high end stationary brands to dollar stores. And the marble composition notebook? Yawn. I hope they start making the stencils in every size! You're hoping for square, I'm hoping for B6!
