I went from a5 to a6 horizontal a few days ago and right now it feels very nice. It actually feels very similar, because it‘s now one spread a6 for one page a5 and I‘m not really missing anything at the moment. but we will see how it turns out and how long it takes for me to fill the notebook up. it‘s a leuchtturm a6 harcover with 187 pages (I‘m from germany and many local stores have them in stock and i love the durability of them) and those little things are expensive as hell. I paid 16,99 € which is kinda insane.

My bullet journal style is minimalistic - mostly pen (I’m using fountain pen with deAtramentis grey document ink which is fast drying), very occasionally small decoration or photo. I also like Leuchtturm’s 80gsm paper because it creates feel of lived in notebook that was used (160gsm feels like cardboard to me 😅). So far I like this notebook. Portability is great. I love that it folds out to A5 size. That was a brilliant idea. My daily logs are long so I expect one notebook to last only 4-6 weeks but we will see. I’m still experimenting around and it’s all new and shiny. I’m curious what my feelings will be once the “boredom and routine” sets in.

The only way I see myself writing in more than one journal is with pocket sizeo journals, but that's strictly for emergencies, and throwing in info that is precisely short, and transferring it to the main journal. Or like when I need to go to the ATM and not rely on my phone to search for info, I would write those kind of details. Phone numbers, emails, bank accounts, contact info. Never could I write future plans.

It has been glorious. But in this case... 1) I don't see how using the book sideways is better than using it the normal way. 2) If I have to bust out a clip to keep it open.... I'm just not gonna do it. 3) If I'm only meant to use one side of the page, it's a tablet, not a notebook. Boo! Therefore, for me this is a product solving a problem I don't have and not adding anything to the game.

I think you didn't get the point about using it in portrait mode, there's only page number on the bottom of the each two page spread because you supposed to use it as a A5 page, this is not mean to you should use only one side.

It made sense to me after the video when I thought about it more. I’m not used to this layout for pocket notebooks, so just sharing my first thoughts. Thanks for checking out the video and for your comment.

Even though I'm a linxhinder, we'd use it like the others. Postscript; We could turn our current notebooks sideways and still do the same as this one...saving money...but we won't bother disorienting ourselves or potential archivists. ;)

It’s definitely disorienting at first. And then it just works.

Thanks for the review. It’s an interesting idea but the paper quality really makes this a ‘no’ for me unfortunately. Sigh.

I just get a pocket Leather wallet With 11mm ring at ETSY . I also can make my own paper (6 rings) and take/add sheets. Like 70s gentleman.

It is too small for me. I wouldn’t be able to read what I wrote I would need a magnifying glass. Thanks for your video😊

Bigger letters. One note per page. 😂

I love this idea because I want to have my bujo with me but it isn’t practical. I will be giving this a go but not with these as they are much too expensive!

There are a lot of pocket options out there. I like the overall design of these though. You know matchy matchy
@grumpypants138 ай бұрын
Eh... the idea is sound, but the per-notebook cost is a lot for something I wouldn't use beyond rapid logging. The smart grid is very nice though, and I hope they decide to bring those to the full-sized notebooks as well!

They have it in their larger but with a different setup - but it could be interesting like this

This is the way that the A-system works. And the way it has always worked. (B-system and C-system works the same way).

I havent heard of these before. Do you have links to more details on the A system?

The numbers are only on one page because a double page is one page of a Normal Bullet Journal.

I figured that out later. Duh Mark. 😂

I admit this notebook hits my 'aw tiny cute' buttons, but that doesn't make it useful. I have an A5 bujo and a packet of Field Notes someone gifted me. If i work out a more efficient 'keep and carry' scheme between those, then the bujo pocket will be the next purchase.
@markyourpages8 ай бұрын
It def hits the cute button 😂 I love that.

@markyourpages I like to think guys have one, too, and just don't talk about it, but realistically, then we'd never know 😉

I think they're rather expensive and to be honest amazon have some cheap notebooks with similar size and dots and they've got nicer paper. I'm turning into such a paper snob, if it isn't at least 120gsm I dont' want it.

The immense care gone into making this high quality product is ruined by the bleed imo maling it a deal breaker for me. If you're going to pay top dollar for a notebook you wamt top performance. The vertical opening is the final coffin nail. Having to use bulldog clips to keep it open is just icky. Verdict: wrong, wrong, wrong
